Plastic Accessories

The pink/green/black/white chains are quite cute with the outfits the models are wearing. But like other previous posters, I just don't think I could pull them off without looking tacky.

Actually I don't think that they're tacky at all when it's worn in colorful outfits.. but this is definately something that suits the summer more than the winter

I like vintage plastic stuff but alot of the new stuff looks silly.

I think they're cute but I'm not all that into them. I feel like I would look childish wearing them

Not so. If you're not an undergrad or younger then just choose a necklace in the same color as your top. I love the look of the black plastic chains over a black top. It looks luxe, not cheap.

I also go for the red plastic chains over a black shell with dark slim jeans and ballet flats. ^_^

Oh ... I saw this thing on TV about collectors ... there is this couple who collects bakelite ... that vintage plastic stuff is FAB

Mmmm I love plastic. The only "jewellery" I ever wear. I would't exactly call it a trend though since marc by marc/miu miu/cacharel/moschino c'nc/Sonia by Sonia Rykiel et al do plastic almost every season. It's more a genre I think...

also have to add that I don't agree it automatically looks childish... if you love it and think you look great in it you probably do. If you don't like it, well then it probably doesn't look good on you. It's not really an age thing.

I like plastic accessories when they are not overdone. I bought a lovely big pink plastic bracelet and I love to wear it in summer. I also like plastic earrings like those

I also have to say I loved her jacket in this episode:ninja:

and surpasses any TREND...imho....

B)^_^

Some of it I really really like. :woot:
The more childish and cute it is the more I like it. I only like it in smaller doses though.
Also I agree it's great for summer...

I love the way it was done by Cacharel... with floral print tops and pretty dresses... I'm going to be wearing this for Summer..

Plastic is fantastic! It can be anything, any shape or color or function... it is cheap, durable, colorful and just plain fun to hunt for in every marketplace - if I am going to wear or carry something plastic, it must be art, funny, something punchy. I think plastic is one of the most whimsical, versatile materials that lends itself to 'Designer Gone Wild'. Everything is relatively light weight too. The only thing I avoid? Plastic shoes.

I feel the same way about glass. Yummy ring in glass from jewelry-weblog.com

I feel like it's a waste to spend a lot of money on plastic, but when I buy the cheap stuff (i.e. Claire's, Forever 21) it breaks easily. I love the plastic chains though.

These bangles are thick, light and inexpensive at USD$12 per bangle - I love the colors and they are chunky enough that they should last without breaking or chipping.

i like the necklaces, bracelets, earrings, but i'm not sold on the rings. something about them looks super tacky to me. maybe it has to be the right one. solid color ones make me cringe.

i think it widely depends on what they. like some of the earrings are pretty cool but some just look really tacky and i dont like any of the stuff people are wearing around their necks these days. i think summer looks lovely with those plastic hearts <333
