Porter #4 Fall 2014 : Anja Rubik by Inez & Vinoodh

^Thank you so much for the review, it got me really excited about this issue. I just really love this magazine, for me it's one of the best ones at the moment.

with a different hair-makeup combination this could've been perfect. but she really looks terrible.

Beautiful! Not crazy about hair but the stunning colours make up for it. Can't wait to see the issue ❤️

It's beautiful, but somehow, this magazine doesn't excite me as much as it should.

I was asking myself, is it because it doesn't come out often enough to spark the same level of interest in me as a monthly mag would, or is it just too 'catalogue' to truly captivate me?

Of course, you could say all magazines are glorified catalogues, but is there something a little too generic in the page design to get me hungry for more? Because I like this magazine, but I never find myself turning the page and wanting what I see. You know, that moment when you need to own that image.

There is something very catalogue like about this magazine.. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is.. I get the same feeling I do from it that I do from those advertorials in magazines.. There's something slightly off that let's you know it's not really part of the magazine.. Like iIt's trying to be a magazine. I am glad to see Melanie Wards work again though. I was wishing she would land a more high profile position after she left Bazaar however.

hmm... not sure about the cover. i quite like the colour palette. but Anja looks so tense. her neck and head and shoulders -- just looks stiff to me. uncomfortable, forced. which is strange for her, because i typically find her posing to be quite loose and free and sensual. this isn't giving me any of that.

The whole issue feels like a mellow misty morning.
