Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous styling, color-palette and setpiece.

The concept of the young and the beautiful making their faithful trek to a mythical Shangri-La through what is essentially a stunning postmodern, glass-and-metal lit by neon sculpture-structure passage is so brilliant in design, I can’t help but weep a little for its stunning design vision.

But gorgeous kids, expensive setpiece art and smart styling aside, there really is only three main looks worked over to mimic a full collection: The voluminous windbreaker trench, the leisure/Nehru jacket and the tuxedo— all in Prada-exclusive, gleaming techno nylon, no doubt. The rest is a tad on the drudging side to me.And if I want to be particularly picky, I can easily get all these looks from Patagonia to The North Face—mix it up with my old Miu MIu and Prada Sport pieces and likely come across more credible as a stylish mountaineering fanatic, than what Miuccia is offering here.

(BTW, I love how “diversity” only seems to mean racial diversity in casting nowadays— yet none of the models in general look to be a day past twenty… How about including models past the age of 25— and god forbid, in their 30s and even 40s?)

There are some great pieces but I have a problem with the styling. It is just too much for me. I don't have to see 10 pieces in one look. It makes difficult to see the actual clothes and is a little bit desperate.

Thank god i'm not the only one who thinks this. it's been like this for the past few seasons now, it gives me such a headache.

I like the tech-y fabrics. I'm curious to see what the backpacks look like, as almost every look has one.

The girl's looks are so unnecessary and boring, aside of Vittoria's storm forecast dress.

I'm very tired of this kind of look. The everything AND the kitchen sink styling is desperate and try hard. Plus, I feel like the industry was sort of moving past the hyper-sporty look. This feels all a bit late and a bit out of left field.

Just keep on piling up the sh*t, Miuccia.

Beautiful boys and rad runway are the best things about the show.

I also think a big issue for me is the attitude.
The super intense faces are a big turnoff for me, it feels dated.

I don't like any of this.

The silhouette; the prints; the colors; the textiles; the footwear..and that stupid wet hair..and that overstyled styling.

I see a few pretty plaid coats that I can see myself in, but I'm sure she's had better pretty plaid coats in prior collections.

To go from last season's strong, confident collection, to this? She did a complete 180 here.

i do like it still (womenswear far outshines the men as she seems to always intend :D) its not my favourite ever collection though. some of it looks a little dsquared!!

PRADA SS2007 part 2!

At first, at wasn't a fan of this. THe heavy styling, the obvious references to the spring 2007 & 2013 and to the fall 2013 & 2014, the fact that this time they felt like they are there to hide something (a lack of new ideas), the fact that it reminded me of the "tacky" Prada Sport line...etc.

But, after watching it 3 times, i kinda like it. In the context of Prada today, it works. It's the perfect time to do a "sporty" collection. Those windbreakers screams BEST-SELLERS, it's somehow chic and it has attitude and for the first time in a long time, it feels young.
Prada is not a brand that we can associate with youth and i think that with this collection, they will attract those young people.

The womenswear is great even if the styling is ridiculous.

As they are quite in trouble from a financial point of view, it was a matter of time for them to put back on a runway their infamous Nylon Backpacks.

I hope that the prices will not be as high as they are usually....if at least 70% of the collection make it to the shops.

Nope, don't see it for the collection. The diversity of the cast is great though. The soundtrack was great too.

To be honest this is a bit of a letdown after the quite brilliant winter collection. I do however like the design on the windbreakers with the meteorological patterns and also the prints on the shirt which will undoubtedly become a hit

So over styled, and the women's looks are completely pointless.
There are a few pieces that work for me, but the rest is nonsense.

clearly the theme was youth  and besides that Prada always uses older men. i think that was the point this time: youth. last season they used older men and women. i liked this for a change and i thought it worked for the colors of the clothes. all that techno fabric and rave colors. and get me a backpack!!!
