Prada F/W 2015.16 Milan

Safer, commercial, yet still very beautifully Prada. It has a Miu Miu vibe but Miu Miu is what makes the company more money.

I can see why Prada decided to make it a more grown up Miu Miu since WWD constantly reported about Prada rapidly losing sales, shares, and clients

I have to be honest, this just all feels very whatever for me, a case of Prada spinning its wheels, and not in a way that at least feels refreshing and "back to basics." It feels like a hodge-podge of some of her recent stuff, which isn't terrible, but it's just sorta eh.

It's very pretty, and some of the jarring color combinations really work for me, but it's certainly not feeling as powerful as her stuff can often be.

Pretty in Prada

I like it overall. It does feel repetitive in that it feels more like a rehash of previous seasons, except done in a much brighter color palette (for F/W, no less). But astoundingly it is still leaps and bounds better than a lot of other shows we've seen thus far from other fashion cities as well as her home turf of Milan.

I am continually disappointed at Prada's reluctance to change the status quo when it comes to diversity, though. I don't know if it was the lighting but boy is this cast white with just the slightest sprinkle of diversity, if you can even call it that.

the color palette is divine! It's like a mix between the late 60s, early 70s, with a futuristic touch while keeping things relatively simple but the magic is all in the fabrics/construction/details. Bravo, Miuccia!

I feel that this is what Raf tries to achieve with a lot of his Dior work, particularly the couture collections but doesn't pull off.

This reminded me a lot of Raf's Fall/WInter 2014 outing for Dior, actually, with the color blocking and the paneling and the rounder shapes.

I don't like the pants and the stuffier looks, but overall this is quite nice look at, BUT I expect much more than this from Miuccia, you know? She's usually the one to provide some reflection and insight with her collections (something that fashion severely lacks right now), and this just isn't it. Very subpar from a designer of her caliber. I adore those brooches, however!

the 60s influence is obvious but i also see 90s in the fit & flare cropped pants and the off-beat colours. it's good but it's not amazing to me.

Is it possible that there is not an ounce of fur in this collection? I can't remember the last Prada collection, spring or fall, that did not feature fur.

^some dresses have fur details (like the ones in post #20) and i don't remember seeing fur last season?

I love this collection it feels very Miu Miu but it doesn't bother me

Whether hate or love this collection would be a big hit both sale and editorial. There're so many good elements it's girly and it's smart, also with tailor and accessories. By the way it's better than last season too.

very reminiscent of some of her mod collections in 94-95 but with a frillier,"forbidden planet meets star trek" feel. not really that into retro and certainly not as literal as this.

Usual retro 60s mod suits and baby dolls made prettier in colors and now not only festooned with paillettes but also bows, repeat, ad infinitum, to make a collection.

i love the inspiration  from tim blanks' review:

"variation on beauty" touched on a longtime fascination of Miuccia's: the relationship between the real and the fake. Is beauty created by genetic modification or surgical intervention any less "real" than natural beauty? This show set out to address that issue from both ends of the spectrum.

Dreamy  i absolutely love this collection. The colors are so lovely excellent work.

It is pretty much like a Pulp videoclip (Disco 2000:( a mix of British 60s and 90s.

Really like it- Generally I love everything that Prada designs and sells...

love it. 60s miu miu futurism all the way. your 2001 a space odyssey international space station awaits.

The whole collection is not extraordinary but it's good. It's actually quite safe. It reminds me of Gucci & Dior FW 2014 with some FW13 Prada (the chevrons).
This collection looks like it was intended to be a hit. No surprises or real strong propositions/ideas.
It's very clever to make the collection all about the separates and she said that it's all double faced Jersey.
I know those unflattering dresses will never make it to production...not even special orders but i wonder how many of it will make it to the shops.

I didn't like and i have no intention to buy the SS 2015 but some pieces of this collection may worth it...only if they're actually produced in double faced jersey.

Nice silhouettes, beautiful colors, great accessories, and really cool fabrics. It looks simpler than her past collections but I didn't mind at all. I also really liked the casting !
