Prada Menswear F/W 11.12 : Tobey Maguire by David Sims

I really love this.
I actually think that it's more Prada-esque than the previous ads by Willy Vandeperre or Heidi Slimane. The lighting and compostion really reminds me of the Prada ads from 2000. Great job. :) :)

I really like these pictures by David Sims,
yeh,,, they really remind me of the brillent pictures of Takeshi Kaneshiro and Amber Valletta's Prada Ad. beautiful lighting, mysterious tone, a place to dream about clothes!~sigh...~

I don't like Sims, I don't like Tobey, but i love Prada, so i'm starting to like it...

Spidey is so random for Prada but I like this, actually. I think Spidey's gettiin some sizzle now that his movie will be out next yr, no? lol

I like it! Great mood here and I didn't find the Tobey Prada pairing weird at all.

Tobey is still relevant? Don't think so. This is so random.

I actually really like the new shot of him leaning against the mantle. I'm growing more and more fond of this with every new shot.

They sure did a great job hiding the collection. There was so much more to the collection than what is seen - the silhouette, the bold geometric prints, the textured fabrications. This campaign is just dull and does nothing to enhance the clothing.

I like this campaign. better than womens, imo.
Tobey is such a Prada guy, he reminds me of Nick Snider and other Prada one season hit wonders that have done the show.
I'm not a fan of the eye bags ,but I'm glad this wasn't photoshopped to death.

I'm surprised he didn't hold humongous bags to cover up his body as per usual Prada ads.

i know right!!!! barely any of these pieces are from the runway! you can't even tell if the pants are the knickerbocks or the cropped pants, for all we know he could be wearing his own pants! i hope there are more photos coming because this is horrible. the collection was amazing, but they really didn't show the brilliance of it with the shoot. maybe he refused to wear some of the pieces? they were "too" crazy for him? because they only put like 1 polo shirt from the show.....

What a shame.. Where are all of the key-pieces of this collection?!
All I see is beautiful backgrounds and pieces of grey suits...

having seen the entire campaign, it's quite clear that they're playing their cards close to the vest during this fragile period during their initial public offereing. if i didn't know better, this campaign could easily have been for any number global fashion houses.

This campaign is so stunning, so fresh for prada but still enigmatic, love what David Sims did here, it's far from boring.

and do ppl really think men wear the edgier pieces from the collections? only show goers do that and magazines do their part (over)showing them to give prada press, the rest of their costumers buy the pieces shown here, Prada knows what their doing.

Can't wait to see this in print.

I completely agree with you. I like the campaign but this collection had too much potential. I would've liked to have seen the pieces better executed.

I just felt that the direction was good, but Tobey doesn't embody the essence of the collection. I think the collection needed someone more masculine.

This is just brilliant. Sure, they could've done something more quirky with such collection, but I actually don't care. Tobey is so right for this, and so is David Sims, this season I'm a total sucker for Prada campaigns.
