good lord, is that really so important?

We get it, you don't like model talks, you're "all about the clothes", but like it or not, models are an important part of an ad campaign, and of the fashion world, so they're bound to be discussed... So YES, it is really so important to a lot of people here

oh my i really don't like this campaign ..i feel kind of silly since everyone else loves it. the first shot is pretty cool..the movement of the dresses is pretty nice, however i really don't like the second shot. i also really dislike the effect they did to this it's almost like they used the "Unsharp Mask" tool in Microsoft Picture it or Photoshop..anyone know what i'm talking about? anywho, i think it looks pretty sloppy. just my opinion though.

you're not alone, i don't get what everyone likes about this either...especially the second picture...i could tolerate the shot with the neutral colors but i hoped he would do something different with the gold but it's just the same to me...and disappointing

i think he was mostly complaining about the fact that on 2 or 3p. not to say 4p. there were only things like "no the 2nd is ...", "the third from the left is ... the one next to ..." etc.
... that was a bit annoying because i came there everytime and actually that was just a model game ...
but .... well ... you know ...

talking about models, i'm sad there are only 8 girls and not 9 ..... that could really confirm my hypothesis ...
isn't one girl coming as a surprise in the coming campain shots ?

god what an annoying campaign! i hate the generic look of the models, theres nothing appealing about it, i prefered the multi girl campaign with querelle, hannelore, karen, daria, stam and i dont know who else a couple of years back, when everyone looked different and the whole thing had power... this may be trendy but i hate it, theres no personality behind their faces, which sucks.

i might change my mind later when i see it in print but i highly doubt so.

Great great ad. Specially the golden ones. And the contrast with the black in between the gold. Woooooooow. All the girls look similar, okay, but it is all about the clothes and not about the girls IMO.

I like the hairstyling It's exactly like the fashion show.

yea, i get what he was saying too..and also trying to stress that people are more amped because of the model choice, not so much the campaign..but i can understand..i mean i'd be excited if it was my favorite models too.

exactly. i can take the usual "xy is so pretty! so fierce! i love her!" but when the members practically DESPAIR cause they can't identify each and every girl, i'm just like "ugh, really?".

"the third is bla blah blah, i know the look of her legs like the inside of my palms!", "that nose is 100% blah blah's!", etc etc. it's that which makes me feel like there's too much importance put on models here.

^Have you considered that some people are not into celebrity, sport or pop culture and they simply enjoy the work of Models? It's like when your favourite sportsman performs well or wins an award or when you favourite actor gets a coveted role in a film, it's the same for model fans, getting a Prada campaign is like the holy grail for the models, and this is where we can come to discuss it, if you'd like to talk about the clothes there is a thread dedicated to the ss09 collection where model talk is not allowed....for some people models are figures for aspiration and admiration. Can you imagine going to the Twilight movie thread and not being able to discuss Robert Pattison's work? I agree the model isn't the only thing that makes the campaign, the stylist, designer, photographer all have a role, but it's just a bit of fun for people who have been waiting for this campaign to come out.

the photograph on page 1 is beautiful, for sure. the texture is great and the lighting is rich and gorgeous.


but who in the hell are the models?? they are entirely interchangeable to me. obviously that's what they were going for -- so as to accentuate the clothes. but i still prefer seeing the clothes worn by someone at least reasonably recognizeable. these girls are simply bland mannequins.

I must agree with Street a Licious, I don't mind regular model talk (and I do it too), but this here was a bit too much... like someone already mentioned, 4-5 pages about Who is who is annoying.
But this is just my impression and i get that people are excited about their faves being in the campaign.

well, i didn't read through the whole thread, so i have no idea of what was previously discussed. i just saw the pic on the 1st page and voiced my opinion at that point.

i don't know how a person can discuss an ad campaign without discussing the models in said campaign ... and until you've got MOD written under your name, please don't refer me anywhere. i'm more than familiar with this site, thanks.

hmm ... just saw the 2nd ad -- the one with the gold dresses ... really like it as well! LMAO @ the writeup suggesting that it looks like a police lineup. haha. sorta true, actually! the ad really is gorgeous though.
