Proenza Schouler S/S 08 NYC

I see some Burberry influence too. The collection has flash and attitude, but the more you look, the less original it gets.

I love it!!! So far it's my favourite. They managed to be new, fun, innovative and wearable all at once. I love almost every look of theirs.

one of my fav. styling effect is everywhere in NYC!!!!!
wear the belt out!!!! gooood!!! very Prada, once again... but luv this... so who cares...
the collection is pretty good on first and quick sight...

very 40s prada

it really reminds me of the 40s short sihlouette which prada used ,but i like their spin on it better (P Schulas) , the shoes are bad *** i saw them on style...40s platforms with cool detailing on the heel

they should have had more pants , most of the stuff is fun and cool but unwearable

I found that so far in most shows, the color palette isn't very S/S to me. Most collections are taking a darker tone similar to fall and Proenza Schouler isn't an exception! But I still love it.... most exciting thing I've seen so far in NYC!

Its pretty good for a NY collection. Some of the jackets at the start were really nice and that shirt dress was very beautiful, but the rest is just average stuff. 6/10 for me.

I was so excited when I read the NYFW schedule yesterday and saw that Proenza Schouler was showing at 8! The time difference was not so good so I had to wait until today and I was so excited! It was worth it!
About the collection...

I love the layering of all those different shapes and materials, the colours used are just magnificent. The burnt golds, greens, zebra prints, khaki etc.
The silouhettes are amazing, layered together and cinched at the waist with a belt, especially the way they used waistcoats. I can see lots of innovative use of layering this season.
There seems to be some sort of tribal millitary feel of this collection especially with the cavalry hats, use of khaki, buttons, jackets with the collars etc.
I love the messy bed hair and the burnt gold eyes, it fits very well.
I can sense that there will be a lot on waistcoats and layering different shapes together.

I see some Burberry influence too. The collection has flash and attitude, but the more you look, the less original it gets.

I agree about that. It does bare some similarities to the most recent men's collection. ^_^
