Puffball/egg shaped skirts

I dont like that pink dress shown. I don't like how the dress like tucks under itself, that makes it look as if the wearer was crossing a puddle and forgot to put her dress back down.

I do love the puffball skirts Balenciaga and McQueen showed, they're much more modern and fresh. I can't see these becoming mainstream, maybe Forever 21 and Wet Seal would dabble in it but Bebe would never! Bebe is far too chic and high-glam.

I like the puffball skirts too, but not everyone can pull them off. I am in the opinion that I can, basically because I fell in love with one I found (it did not have a bad '80's -tacky feel), wore it to a formal party and got a whole lot of compliments and NOT one "what-the-hell??" stare. So hopefully I'm right, because those are one of my favorite things from the f/w 05/06 collections, I'm not loving the whole toned-down, detail-free bland colors deal.

However, I CAN see these being tried to sell in those mainstream stores, but not a whole lot of people buying them for fear of looking like an Easter-colored marshmallow. And I CAN see them being sold at bebe. I don't know if I'd call bebe the epitome of chic, glamorous classiness, I mean, I like many things from there, but too often I've seen things that scream "Hello there, I'm a trend victim!!". I think bubble skirts have the potential to fall into that category. I can definitely see Wet Seal trying to sell them. But, I guess we'll see around late July/early August just what starts showing up in stores...

^ I agree shopmuch.

I bought a mini pouf skirt last summer and I just started wearing it out... I haven't seen any of the stores carrying them yet, but once the weather warms up I'm sure they will...

They are gorgeous. I love them.
Even though I don't think that I'm able to pull them off.

The best ever: McQueen's puff, helmut not included

why not?? if you love em you can pull them off^_^

I really like the one Kirsten Dunst is wearing, looks totally wearable. A sheer pouf skirt worn over a "normal" skirt. The skirts posted look to complicated for my daily use :P

I saved the picture from the Kirsten Dunst thread, don't remember the credits..

i was thinking about making one for myself...i feel like i'd want the hem to scrunch in and then have a bit hanging down below it, like maybe an inch or 2, right at the knee.

I think it's very cute, but I am not too sure that the ultra puffed one, if I could pull them off. The not too puffed are great though.

This is the only one i've liked so far. I think they're so unflattering, even Diana looked horrendeous (Although I don't think she was that pretty anyway she usually had quite good dress sense)

^They can be very unflattering, but if you pull it off I think they can look super beautiful. I agree though that most of the time they just make people look like oompa loompas.

i never thought i'd ever hear bebe being referred to as "chic and high-glam" ...

Well, I love dramatic proportions, through their thick and thin...

I've always loved them. I used to wear one I made a few years ago, but I lend it to a friend and I never got it back!
I don't believe in a word such as "wearable". I think it is wheather you want to wear it or not. If you have the guts to wear what you like, then it is wearable. Not practical, like a Galliano outfit, that's another story.

I want one! If any of you see them online please let me know because Im sure stores here wont get them.
