Ugh it breaks my heart to know that his family woke up to this news and were bombarded by the press. What time did they release that video statement? I feel sad for them.. as if they felt obligated to release some sort of statement to the public really quickly.. Could you even begin to imagine what it must have been like for them to wake up and be basically told by the media that their son and brother has died?

As ridiculous as this sounds, I'm comforted to know that there are other people who are as sad about this as I am!! Some people might think we're ridiculous.. but I hate it when people say "You didn't even know him" !! To me, it's just the fact that he was a familiar face, an individual with a lot of talent and promise. The fact that we'll never see him act or smile again is sad. As well, you didn't have to know him to be sad about the fact that his daughter will never grow up to know her father. Yes, people go through this sort of stuff everyday.. but for God's sake people have a heart!

Still not over this. This is gonna take me at least a week.

i have the same feeling about river phoenix.

River Phoenix was my first thought when I heard the news about Heath this morning - to me they had always seemed so similar, talent and personality-wise, but it never crossed my mind Heath would come to the same tragic end so early in his life (NOT saying anything about cause of death).

I remember being devastated when River died, I just burst into tears. I wasn't as starstruck over Heath (though not being 15 anymore probably makes a difference) but it's the same sort of shock and sadness. His poor daughter and family. Poor Michelle.

RIP Heath. All my love and prayers and condolences to his loved ones and fans.

I can only hope for that, although I somehow doubt that the media will. My condolences to them and his friends too.

I don't know what to say... I'm completely shocked.

And he was just nominated for an Oscar last year in 2005!

I'm still in shock after half a day... I still can't wrap my head around it.

I think my favourite role of Heath's was Ennis in "Brokeback Mountain".

as a gay man, i could relate to his character. he was totally heartbreaking in that role. the scene where he opens Jack's cupboard to find the 2 shirts hung together. OMG. I was bawling my eyes out.

years ago, i remember watching him in the Australian series "Sweat" when he was a teenager. He was such a natural talent in that and it never surprised me that he became a bigger actor internationally...

I've felt so so sad all day, it's so awful. He was far too young to die, such a waste of life and talent. Can't believe it still.

My heart goes out to the people close to him, his family and little girl. I feel so sorry for them and what they are going through now. Will truly miss seeing his amazing talent in movies in the future. RIP
