Raw Food lifestyle question!
So recently, say 4 weeks ago I decided to go raw, not completely yet but I was gradually making the change in my diet and life in general. I've always loved eating healthy and exercising immensely, feeling extremely fit, light and energetic and having an altogether improved mood and spirit when actively engaging in a healthy lifestyle.
However, the last 3 years I sort of went off track. I became part of the night crowd and spent a lot of time partying. I ate very irregularly and stopped exercising almost completely, except for dancing for a couple of hours in the weekends.
Strangely, this paired with a certain apathy that came over me and during this time I would rarely feel strong emotions. I stopped the extreme behavior since July last year though, only going to parties once every two weeks if not less and going straight home and to bed after, pretty normal I'd say.
Since I started eating raw a couple of weeks ago though I've started feeling really, really sad, lost my desire for social activities and generally have been feeling kind of.. Depressed almost? I also suddenly felt the need to eat processed foods again.
I'm really curious whether anyone here has tried the raw food "diet" and knows if this could be caused because eating processed foods can be used as a way to suppress emotions and by eliminating these foods i'm starting to feel the emotions that I've been suppressing all along? Is this a normal feeling when you're just making the switch?
I'd love to hear some stories by others who are familiar with this, but any help is appreciated.
Also, i'm not trying to lose weight by going raw, i'm trying to make a lifestyle change so this thread is not breaking any rules.
