Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

I think that, for the 1st time in my life, I will not go to work on November 13 to be at the opening. :ninja:

i emailed them and they said they havent desided on a list of stores yet that will sell it, but if they can see an area shows enough interest then they will defantly consider it, the final list is to be drawn up mid october aparently... im going to get everyone i know to push for my city to get it :buzz:

^^^ that rules newcastle out then:lol:

so much for giving everyone a chance at affordable fashion if its true they're going to be picky about it.

interesting stuff, i wonder how they will end up looking on actual people, i need to see some photos. Too bad it will be a limited sale on some stores only.

I hate that I do not live near an H&M...I like some of the pants. They look edgy enough to try without breaking the bank.

I cant wait to start seeing pics though once this collection comes out!!

excerpt from a forbes.com story

"Rather than aiming to make clothes that no one has ever seen before, [Kawakubo's H&M collection] is very much Comme-des-Garçons-goes-to-its-roots," says Jennifer Uglialoro, U.S. public relations manager at H&M.
Kawakubo stays true to her deconstructed tailoring. For men, the line features her classic shirt cut on a bias and the pork pie hat. The women's pleated skirt, an essential part of Comme des Garçons for more than 20 years, will also be available.

13 November. That's a weekday right? I hate how it's always when I'm at school. I'm considering skipping school that morning so I can queue! Lol.

But if it does come to Newcastle, it's often a good place to pick up things from designer collaborations. You could still buy things from the 'sold out' Karl Lagerfeld collaboration at least a month after it came out in Newcastle.

im hoping it does come poc but i dont have high hopes, although it does carry all the lines and have just had a revamp who knows.

although the V+R collection wasnt around for long in the store it was shippedd out to london pretty quick (if i remember rightly).

Does anyone know what sort of prices the collection is going to be? I am dying for the coat but I'm scared its' going to be £200 + :/
Also does anyone know which stores will get it? Will it be all of them or only a few?

i'll rely on the fact that the average - italian h/m costumer has no idea what comme des carcons is, so i guess i wont have trouble finding the pieces... the jackets look SO interesting :D

don't be so shure - most people will buy it because it "H&M designer" rather than because it's Comme. Hopefully this will be a bit on the stranger side though, probably not as popular as Lagerfield or V&R

hmm I'm just thinking of the queues outside the London flagship store. Not really wanting to be in that stampede when the doors open!

I wouldn't rely on that. The average English H&M customer wouldn't go for Comme but then the people that usually shop designer and not H&M, they'd probably go and they'd probably buy the whole collection because they can afford it!

I don't have classes thursday until 12:30

I'll just have to drag myself up earlier, assuming the collection comes here :ermm:
