Rick Owens F/W 2009.10 Paris

it should be a balenciaga collection.... so nichola.... xD
anyway, cos i just a bit disappointed with nichola this season.... thats why....

simple and complex, beautifully melded together. interesting shapes, love the separation between dark and light. it's so fresh to see something like this, away from this 80's cacophony that everybody else is doing.

The volumed tall boots really kicked in. I am wondering who in which trend forecast company invent this fishing industry inspired boots

When I saw this I just thought - I can breathe again. Lolz.

it's so cool how he can totally evolve yet stay totally and utterly Rick, season after season
I was just thinking that, that's probably what impresses me the most about his work, he's not the kind of designer that often 'disappoints' because he doesn't play with concepts hoping to catch the spirit of the season, he's very much playing with himself and the rest ride along. I absolutely admire him for that, cause it's difficult to get there, but he knows it's the kind of struggle with results that the rest end up observing and falling in love with.

thats so owens!
but colors are new, pretty uncommon for him:milky-blue-white. stylist panos yiapanis again, i guess

i think i will get lot of these pieces, as always with rick clothes

 how?
this is just nonsense, the fact that balenciaga has become an adjective and people won't even bother to think further and appreciate other creators for what they are instead of random associations.

the only thing they have in common is that they're now presenting the same day.

i like this but i wish he wasn't so repetitive all the time, half the collection are repeat looks. he changes from collection to collection, but within a collection, there's really no.. journey? i dont want to say one note but it doesnt take me anywhere..

I like it a lot. It's great how my admiration for Rick Owewn is nonnegotiable. He's always keeping hold oh him own style, way to create. And that's so well passed on to us, It's plain how It's really impresing!

Owens NAILED it! Yay! I'm so glad to see a great collection after being so extremely disappointed in Gareth Pugh and Balenciaga this season. Not only is it 1000% his own style, but He keeps it interesting by evolving it and finding new and innovative tangents to explore....LOVE, LOVE ,LOVE it!

wow!! !!!! The Balenciaga comparison thing is seriously getting out of hand, this is the last thread I'd expect to find it in.

I'm inclined to agree with you here, even though I might change my mind when the collection has sunk in and I can appretiate the details more. And I don't agree with this beeing a typical Owens thing, but I think this collection is a bit wierd. I was blown away from the first half, when I came to the second half I had to see if someone was double-posting or something, because things started looking a bit too much alike.

Besides that, I love this! Very... arctic warrior :woot:

It's refreshing to see a collection without an 80's influence. This one is a real winner. Fashion forward, meets trendy, meets WEARABLE! All wrapped up in beautiful color choices. Not to mention so much of the collection is interchangeable. How wonderful is that from a practical consumer's stand point? The black would go gorgeously with baby powder blues. I'm trying to find something not to love.

omg :mellow: I'm having heart palpitations looking at this ... I love the fact is the same silhouette throughout the whole show but it's not boring, it's exciting and keeps you on your toes! and I love the colour palette, so soft! :crush:

Thanks for posting! :):flower:
