Rick Owens S/S 09 Paris

I know! I mean you can look up some awesome styling done with RO items on polyvore and indeed they usually involve his pieces being the centre focus... he just needs to grasp that.

This collection looks a bit of conceptual, not to say inspirational.

the shoes will most likely be a simple cross front sandal, the half chap looks to be a piece of leather that is wrapped around the calf and is a show piece.

all in all, most of it is interesting (especially the last half of the show), but the skirts remind me of txell miras from 2007 fall/winter. I just hope he uses decent fabrics that hold up and arent flimsy like he has in the past.

I'm not overly impressed with the show, but the clothes are a stylists dream, I got into Rick Owens simply because of the way Pat Field dressed Emily in the Devil Wears Prada. It's a unique mix, of edginess, intellect, and glamour, which are hard statements to balance. There are many interesting things I've picked out of the collection already which would look just as appropriate on the street, as it would at the Crillon!!! Good stuff!!!

The dress on the first look of #43 and the reptile waistcoats are gorgeous.
I generally like the shapes, but I find it really rather dull and repetetive.

^ well I'll be an exception...I loved this, and the use of the smoke gave a great effect

I love it! Take away some of the conceptual bits and there are lots of very wearable pieces there.

^ As I said earlier, I love it too. I think it was one of his strongest collections yet. I think his "repetitiveness" is one of his many strengths. Though there's always a subtle thematic twist for each new collection, that really only is evident in the runway show. In the end, with RO, I will ALWAYS have somewhere to go for a great, simple black dress, a great leather jacket, an edgy blazer, a great coat, or a cool edgy skirt regardless of what is going on in larger trends. Sure, I'm biased, because he really embodies my whole personal aesthetic. I look at this collection and think - wow, if I could afford it, I'd buy the whole thing (including some of the shoes) and then I wouldn't have to shop for spring clothes for a very long time.

Very innovative, controversial and mysterious looking, but being honest with you, it looks like a fashion design student collection just released from college to me.

the nun habits and loose fabric over the shoes are so distracting, i have NO IDEA what the clothes actually look like.

A nuns party? Truely great! Though not so impressed as the FW collection.

Yay!!! Thanks for posting the video!

The finale was extremely WICKED!!!!!!! and the smoke was ahhhh!!!
