when i think of riding boots i think of a classic pair of polos...
very well-cut, simple, and elegant...
i've had my eye on these two pairs for ages
but living in southern california it always seems a bit inappropriate
with 72-degree winter days

but f**k appropriate...
a little irony is always nice...

the first pair is polo ralph lauren for 228
the second is etienne aignier for 163

^ That's not what I would call Riding Boots....
I put it in 'quotation marks' ;) It's the same style no? If not I still love them.

Haven't spotted them over here yet. Everyone just clings to their converse and uber-pointy heels.

JCrew has alot of nice "riding boots". There not the lowest priced but still nice. Here's pictures of all the styles keep in mind most of them come in other colors as well (check them out www.jcrew.com) these are the flat "riding boots" there's other great ones with a heel. Oh and the last pair are rubber!:p

I would like to know what do you people think of them? I live in finland in here and i haven´t seen them so much.. yet.
Haven't you? I've seen quite a few people wearing them...
But anyway I think they look best with skinny jeans and I've been looking for the perfect black leather pair of riding boots but haven't found any yet. I don't want them to be too "Ralph Lauren"ish...

^^those kind of remind me of these that I posted from JCrew! Very nice I like the strap at the top:woot:

5. $350

did you ride as a child?
i cannot figure out how the real equestrian boots zip up...
there are some i've seen with shoe laces...
but i am assuming there is a side or back zipper that goes the full length of the boot?

ps glad you liked those... i think i will get myself a pair...

Calexico, those boots you posted are so beautiful. Perfection.

Calexico - Those you posted is what I would call riding boots, love them dearly!

Bonchic - the ones from JCrew (no 5) are gorgeous! :woot: love the strap.

thanks adore, gincat, tinetush...
i am going to order a pair...
they are 18" long, which sounds ridiculous since i am 5'5"...
i only have so much leg!

but we'll see...

I love the riding boot look. I don't think I could ever pull it off though.
I have two pairs of actual riding boots one rubber and one leather.

I love this kind of boot,I'm thinking of buying some as im going to ny in feb and i have absolutely no suitable footwear for the weather it will be.
I thought they'd be comfortable,practical and cute.

I tried on these boots and liked them..I'm not sure if the sole is too chuncky to be considered a riding boot?? They are Rocket Dogs.$128.00 on zappos.com but around $60 at DSW where I tried them on.

Do you think riding boots are worn better with skinney jeans or with the jeans rolled up above the boot?

My boots go on with a pair of hooks and silky socks over my pants and come off with a boot pull. They aren't easy to get in and out of! I have both field boots (with laces) and dress boots (no laces) and they're both custom made to fit perfectly. The field boots just provide a little more ankle support with the lacing.

yeah I think real riding boots are brilliant but like softie mentioned, they are quite expensive to get the real thing.

i see...
so it is completely a matter of pulling them on and off...
no zipper...
i will have to wear very silky soft socks to achieve this...
thank you winter blossom!
