Back in the pre-internet dark ages of late 80s-early 90s, along with Vivienne Westwood, Pam Hogg was the type of London designer that I’d read about in magazines, but being a teenager living in Northern Ireland, I was a million miles away from being any part of that world in any way.
Until one day, down a side street in Belfast, I found a store that sold Pam Hogg, and I felt like I’d struck gold, because these were designs I'd only ever distantly seen in photos, but now they had come into my life as something real. She was my "first" and I've never forgotten what it felt like to discover those pieces.
