For those who don't know (i was one of those people ) :

The Tortured artist is a stock character and stereotype, who is in constant ferment due to frustrations with art and other people. The tortured artist feels alienated and misunderstood due to what they perceive as the ignorance or neglect of others who do not understand them, and the things they feel are important. They sometimes smoke, experience sexual frustration, and appear overwhelmed by their own emotions and inner conflicts and are technophobic. The tortured artist is often mocked in popular culture for being attention seeking, narcissistic, unable or unwilling to make plans or just averse to happiness and fun. Tortured artists are often self-destructive in behavior.

I think it can mean all those things depending on the person. But then most "tortured artists" have groupies.

In the case of Kurt Cobain as far as the stories I heard he and Courtney would hump like bunnies to put it nicely. Then again we all know what they had for "breakfast, lunch and dinner" if you get my drift.

That movie came out in 2007 and HP GoF came out in 2005, so it was after.

Although, Harry Potter was his first "major" film.

He was in other things (looking horrible with a mullet in one film)..
