I didn't even know people in Mexico read Twilight.

The only reason those fangirls are screaming is b/c they see Edward Cullen. Not RPattz, but E. Cullen.

Right, because Twilight is this super secret phenomenon, and it's impossible for people outside the US to have heard of it. Or maybe because you think that mexicans can't read a book written in english.

And your second assumption is wrong too. I happen to be friends with some of the girls who were at the airport (thankfully not the ones who kept screaming "please!", because I do think it got insane), and they see Robert, not Edward. They knew who he was BEFORE he got the part.

These kind of comments is why I chose not to share here the pictures my friends took.

I didn't think Twilight was so big that it's become an international star. I still find it surprising that the popularity of it has extended beyond US borders.

And I stand by the fact that the majority the fan base is obsessed with RPattz because of his new Edward Cullen status. If Tom Sturridge had gotten the role (which I dearly wish he had), he'll be the one being mobbed by fangirls in the streets.
