Robert Pattinson

It's not the best trailer, but I liked all the clips. An almost-villain-role for Robert, at last! ù_ù

At first I was utterly shocked by him keeping the hairstyle but I realized Cronenberg might need him just in case they would need reshoots.

All I know is it makes me happy to see him since his interviews are my pinnacle highlights for promoting for the Twilight PR. He trolls a lot and you can tell how amused he is with BE

actually, i like the trailer too. it doesn't look bad at all for me. actually, it seems like he delivered a really good performance judging by these few scenes. plot does seem a bit boring, but acting seems really nice. :)

There are no definite dates yet I believe but I'm thinking the fall of this year in select countries. I know it's doesn't have a distributor for the US and I don't think it will get one. I didn't know what to expect regarding the trailer but it came off better than what I imagined.

Thanks. :flower:

I finally saw the trailer, here it is for those who missed it last time. I must say that I love it. I am a huge die hard of Maupassant & Bel-Ami and I was uber scared by what Pattinson has been saying about George and all the rumors around it but I had a very pleasant surprise. I hope it will live to the trailer's expectation. If he doesn't bring it I think French newspapers/critics are going to blunt and brutal.

^thanks for posting another link, I missed the first one! I agree with you, the trailer looks very promising! in Remember Me Rob's acting was only okay to me, but I think he was amazing in WFE and I have high hopes for Bel Ami after seeing the trailer! :woot:

LOL ok I stand alone then..

No the film looks interesting and it's a great cast. I love a good period film anytime.

I know it was only the tralier but I was impressed by what I saw of Rob's acting. There are quite a few similar comments on other movie sites.

^^i gotta agree:ninja: i like trailers that don't tell the whole story, but here it seems like the movie has no plot at all
There is a plot, an insane, multi layered, interesting plot. The book deals with money, politics, journalism, the power (and lack of sometimes) of women in this society along with their places in it, it deals with so many feelings/desire we all had about what success means to us, it deals with poverty and the life of the less fortunate of us during this area, it also deals with war, what marriage means and what is its purpose, how you can go from less than zero to actually someone powerful etc.. It's cynical yet funny, it's realistic, yet surreal, it's just a gems, an incredible book. I seriously recommend it if you can deal with "naturalism". The script may not be that great but if you love 19th century French authors then you should definitely check this book out. I have it in "La Pléiade" collection and it's totally worth every penny. It's a masterpiece, literally. Too bad (or not given the script) Marion Cotillard turned it down. The only problem the movie would have is if Pattinson screw it up, the script is weaker than the book and a bad performance/wooden can completely cheapen the character and/or take down all the layers of the character.. Seems like no matter how, for me, he didn't get his character at all (judging by interviews I've read of him regarding the matter) he actually shows more passion/range/interesting stuff than in his previous movies (apart from Little Ashes, Bad Mother handbook and How to to be)

I hope it's going to great. The book ask for it. Oh and it's quite weird to hear it in English..but since no French went for it

Yeah me too, he has shown a lot of real emotions in these short clips I must say.. I love period films, I hope this one will be as good as the trailer predicts:).

I was quite happy to see some of those positive comments from the movie sites as well. I mean The Playlist said he actually looks fine in the role. Talk about shocking  They normally don't have nice things to say about Rob.

I red a book and I was scared that the film will ruin it but as far trailer goes it look promising

i just recently saw his hair & i was like.. REALLY.. really RPatz???:yuk::shock::ermm::ermm::ermm: i wanna know who the heck told him that that looked good because they need to be run outta town with torches

^LOL
he cut it for Cosmopolis and the speculation is that he´s keeping it in case of reshoots :)

^^ thank god, i thought he forgot to take his crazy pills or was smoking somthing heavy:rolleyes::rolleyes:.. hopefully when that movie ends he could go back to his nice thick gorgeous luscious hair that i have inappropriate dreams about lol:innocent::blush::innocent::blush:

Seems like he kept the cut cause he likes it, not because of Cosmopolis reshoots :mowhawk::D

@17ForeverLisa was lucky enough to win a place for the exclusive Meet and Greet after the "Breaking Dawn" Panel at SDCC 2011.

Me: (deep breath) So…the hair…Cosmopolis reshoots?
Rob: (his bent fingers went to the long side of his hair; my breath hitched) No. I don’t think there are going to be any reshoots, actually (a little bit of surprise in his voice).
Me: (smiling) So you just like it then.
Rob: (laughs and rocks back in his chair) Yeah!

Nice seeing him and Tom together. I don't mind the top part of the outfit, so far it looks okay. I see that he still has his crazy a** haircut :)
