I liked him in the Harry Potter series, however I can't stand him in Twilight, even though I have never seen the movie or read the books before.

Hopefully he can have a career after doing this series and not be labeled as "Edward Cullen" for the rest of his life.

I think he definitely will. As opposed to all of the Harry Potter actors, he's got gigs set up already in between films. Plus, he had How To Be premiere around the time of the Twilight hype, so we know he's capable of taking on other, far more indie roles. And he's already filmed Little Ashes, which is sure to catch people's attention.

Erm...I seriously disagree, I think the Twilight saga is incredible.

I was really unsure about whether I even wanted to see the film; I saw the trailer and thoughts...oh my gawd, what have they done? I didn't like Robert as Edward, or any of the Cullens actually, or Kristen as Bella.
But I gave it the benefit of the doubt and went to see it on Friday when it finally graced English cinemas, and I absolutely loved it! I have to say, everything about the actors' appearance being different to what I expected was overshadowed by their superb acting. I thought Robert was amazing as Edward, his expressions and movements were so flawless! I really loved the film. I'm even warming to Kristen and I never thought that would happen.

well i only read a bit of twilight and found it unbearably cheesy and awful, so i can completely understand charlotte. but i guess it can be addicting and a nice read, it's just not my cup of tea...

and i also think rob has a good chance to get out of this without the "edward" stamp, especially because he chooses his roles based on the script more than the money or fame he could get with it. plus he seems to play different kind of characters and not always the same person over and over again (like efron)...speaking of him: lainey has also noticed him copying rob...

Ahh I've seen Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson being called similar so much recently, but I think Robert's style is a lot more raw than Zac's. It's so natural on him (and sexy), and sometimes I think Zac is trying too hard.

I agree completely. Rob just throws on whatever he has, but you can tell Zac is much more meticulous and precise with what he wears.

LOL agree. Whole saga is pretty misogynistic and Meyers portrayal of women is archaic but I'm not going to lie, I did like Twilight when I first read it, the others are ridiculous

ah, that's all just the media making things up. of course they compare the two because they have the same group of fans (tweens), are the same age and young and hot actors. and turning them into competitors is much more interesting for the press than if they were best friends, but i doubt they personally really care about it...
