Robert Pattinson Dishes On His Personality And Dating

LOS ANGELES, CA., Jan.11 (TOTI) --

Robert Pattinson has come a long way in a short period of time.
The 22 year old actor broke box office records playing the part of immortal vampire Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight, and the role broke some stereotypes that Pattinson felt he fit in to.

Robert told Tiger Beat magazine, "I was a geek."

RPattz admitted that the amount of love and adoration for him and his character, Edward, was a bit overwhelming for him. He recalled one of the first Twilight conventions he attended. "I was terrified. There were like 6,000 people!"

Robert Pattinson said that some of his own fears helped him to brilliantly play the role of Edward. When he was asked what he had most in common with him, he replied, "I suppose not being good enough for the people you have relationships with. I identify with that."

As for his own love life, Robert Pattinson denied rumors that he's dating Lovebug actress, Camilla Belle. He told Twist, "I'm single at the moment. I read stories that I'm dating so and so, but it's not true. They are always good guesses because I fancy the girl I'm paired up with."

He and cast mates, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Billy Burke and Jackson Rathbone begin filming Twilight's sequel, New Moon in March.

What's behind the buzz with Robert Pattinson and co-star Kristen Stewart? When Rob took his hair down to a short crop (he was still quite hunky) many wondered why. Life & Style Weekly explores the reasons and cites and friend that says he needed a bit of a break from all of the heat and the tons of attention that is now surrounding his sudden rise to fame. "Robert's entire life changed after he took on the role of Edward," says an insider. "And he's not sure he likes what's happening to him."

Is Robert a reluctant leading man? The report claims that his buzz cut was an attempt to get away from prying eyes during a recent trip to London. "Robert wanted to go home incognito," reveals the insider. "He was hoping that by changing his appearance, he wouldn't be bothered."

Anonymity has escaped the actor since Twilight's box office topping premiere in November. "Robert can't go out anymore without having people follow him," the insider says. It's a newfound reality that's also brought on a tidal wave of fresh friendships and romantic interest from women everywhere he goes.
