Roberto Cavalli S/S 2012 : Naomi, Karen, Kristen & Daphne by Steven Meisel

in the video you can actually see that they were all on set at the same time. at about 0:42 Kristen is laughing w/ Karen

not to start anything negative, but I think it may have more to do with Naomi not wanting to share the frame with Daphne :innocent:

I'm so happy Jon K is doing the menswear, but I hate the muted background against those clothes.
this is one of the few cases where the campaign just does not do the product justice.

Lol, i was thinking the exact same thing. But that's all speculation.
I agree with modelo: Naomi is the best in this campaign.

i just don't understand why they didn't shoot this campaign against some grand backdrop. all of the glamour of those clothes gets muted by that sears portrait studio background.

I highly doubt Naomi had any issues shooting with any model.....So many times she's shot with models whose not on her level...ppl will pull things from their _____ just to have something to talk about...It looks like they shot them seperately due to limited space and merged the two photographs.. I seriously doubt Naomi has the power nor the intention to demand that she dont shoot with certain models...If thats the case she wouldn't be working as much as she has and with multi girls may I add. I see Naomi embracing the younger generation as they possibly couldnt pose as a threat to her SOLID career.

Now I do think the background could be any other color than dull gray...it does take a way from the vibrancy of the clothes and the mood of the campaign..

Agree with Modelo as well Naomi is the best thing to happen to this campaign and the fact that she's owning it, is why so many ppl are ASSUMING she had Diva antics on set...:judge:

^Relax :innocent: no one is willing to start this discussion.
And it's certainly not because she owns this campaign that people may think she got diva things, more cause of her past (i). Although i do think that she can request something like that, just because she is a iconic model and yes indeed she is the best in this campaign imo.

Meisel just like grey, remember Balenciaga S/S 2010 (with mirte, iseline, patricia and lisanne) that background was also grey..

It seems to me that Naomi's past will forever haunt her. No matter what she does people always seem to find a way to make reference to it. Nevermind the countless other models who have a bad past as well (some whose noses almost fell off) but they get forgiven. She has grown so much over the past few years and is actively engaged in so many organizations helping people around the world. I see her as a mature and very elegant woman. She owns!

The fact that nearly every comment in this thread(including my own) is devoted to Naomi further proves she is the epitome of Supermodels and each and everyone of you just have to embrace or simply deal with it.

Thats hilarious and exactly what came to mind haha.. but honestly its probably just because of photography logistics.. if they have 4 girls in 1 frame its going to be harder to find a shot where all 4 girls look good, if they split the shot into 2 girls/2 girls then its easier to find a shot where everyone is working it to the appropriate level haha

Love this! Karen looks simply amazing. But I do agree, Daphne is such an odd casting choice.

really wanna see these in print with the logo. i hate the backdrop colour though

I don't like it, I love the models and I think it could be so much better if it would be out of a studio!

What a privilige for Daphne to shoot with 3 of the greatest Supermodels! I think she's doing a good job as a relatively newbie in contrast to them.
Odd mix at first but plays off well at the end :)
