Roberto Cavalli Scandal

They are strikingly similar..too similar for my tastes. I wonder if this will receive more coverage and attention?!?

Martin Margiela does this all the time. He's even so brazen as to write it on the label.

Ay honey! Galliano did it a while ago!, he doesnt need like 70 years of separation, he just needed 4!

I think sometimes it's very hard to understand the difference between plagiarims and inspiration correctly, especially when we are talking about art. For me what Cavalli did is pure plagiarism, but some might call it inspiration, while I see nothing wrong with Galliano being inspired by fall Versus collection.

Funny Face's wardrobe was by Givenchy. It's auto-plagiarism, and if that was a crime Karl Lagerfeld would be in the dock every season.

Its sad but its been done so many times by so many designers. just take a look at the Outfit Look-alikes thread. It may be unprofessional but at the end of the day fashion is all about business and if copying 1930's dresses would get me at least a yatch like Cavalli, im on it! haha

2alejandropa89: I really do not believe that John Galliano would be inspired by a collection that brought Versus house in FW04 to bankruptcy...
