Rochas F/W 06.07 Paris

i know this is 2 years late, but i was wondering if anybody knew the songs or had the soundtrack for the acompnying show?

i really want to say something about this collection, but i know im not enough of an alchemist of ideas or words to really express how this makes me feel. i know it comes off as silly; they are just clothes and it is just fashion. but if a painting or a performance can move someone, then why not fashion? there's something about these clothes - i actually heard myself wimper at some of the photos toward the end. there is emotion present in these clothes. its that emotion - the tenderness, sweetness, and incredible care and delicacy of the ideas which i think makes them so effective. the white dress in the background is spectacular. i wish i had all the money in the world to buy these clothes, just to own as an object of beauty.

the really delicate items seem to do something to me - it makes one long for gentle touch and love. haha maybe i'm going too far outside the lines? but these clothes evoke feelings of love and selflessness, and there isn't any other brand which does that to me.

I miss Rochas very much, too. I mean, I loved what Olivier did at Nina Ricci FW 07, but I really didn't like what he did at Nina Ricci SS 08 (granted there were several beautiful designs)...but at Rochas, I loved EVERYTHING he did...and FW 06 was his best Rochas collection ever!

The full video! What a perfect collection. I miss Olivier's work at Rochas so much! Absolutely perfect clothes, perfect girls, perfect music. Everything is so delicate. And all the gowns in this collection are so iconic....they haven't aged a day!

I have to comment again....can barely contain my adoration for this collection. I've watched the 3rd video probably a dozen times today - those gowns are so perfect and so simple and they're the most elegant designs if ever seen, and then when Romina closes and the Sufjan Stevens song plays, I'm almost brought to tears! Olivier is such a dreamer, a visionary. His vision of beauty is so heartbreakingly fragile and sensitive.

It's such a shame that Rochas closed on him. What he created for the house was magic.

Oh I could not agree more, Oliver is such a romantic and so in tune with what I envision as high fashion, he is so dearly missed on the paris catwalk schedule!

After seven years, I still remember this collection like it was yesterday. I started to become interested in fashion also thanks to his work at Rochas. It's sad that he is not designing for this brand again because he truly managed to create magic and magnetic collections that will be forever remembered.
