Rochas S/S 06 Paris

it is still a nice collection, although not as pretty as last one, nor as striking as his first one. i believe we are witnessing the transformation of Rochas (so is Dior), i believe designers are taking us back to minimalism. Since Olivier has been showing us how his visions of Rochas should be like, and what the "signature pieces" are (as in what devoted clients expected to get from him each season). I believe in Oli's integrity immensely, and sure a fashion designer is allowed to have a "not as good collection" once not very often... shall we all expect a better f/w season in 6 months' time?

I love the detailwork and the play with the fabrics, but as for the shapes of all the pieces, I am seeing nothing new and lots of similarities to previous collections of Rochas...

Ok, so the collection was better then the first few picture led on...mainly towards the end when he released those midnight blue/cobalt/violet concoctions.

Very pretty, I love this dress most of all...

I actually think this is *more* beautiful than last fall ... what he's done with the movement of both the skirts and the pants is really beautiful ... looks to me like a really effective refinement of last season. I think he is moving forward in terms of refining his vision for Rochas ...

The grey dress with the short bell sleeves is particularly perfect & beautiful. I also really love that incredibly rich lilac--possibly overdyed?

^ good choice spike. It's all very fluted and elegant, but nothing is really jumping out at me. I do like that jacket with the dragonfly embroidery.

edit: the first time i saw olivier without a beard, i thought he was a very beautiful woman. beard or not, he still is.

I prefer the fall collection to this, a lot of the pieces seem to sweet and/or pretty for my taste.

I must say I'm dissapointed. :(
