I had never heard of her or that band before, but I checked out the thread because I love the name Roisin! She is very cute and has a wonderful personal style. Very funky and girly, without falling into the skanky-ho-bag pitfall that so many other young pop stars can't seem to avoid.

I've noticed in both these pictures and her performances, that she uses cloth or material as an extension of expression during her act.
She likes to drape and layer, remove and then begin all over again

Its very different from Moloko stuff, shows of her voice better I think, I saw her perform at Glastonbury as she was amazing.

First of all I'm crazy about their music. I have only 2 cd from them and saw their video Sing It Back a couple of time, I think it was soo stylish, the singer was so pretty too (also her voice). I don't hear about them a lot in the media, are they big in Europe?

i absolutely love her but i have to say,i've listened to overpowered and the two other tracks that's available as digital downloads on 7digital.com,and i don't really like neither. feels too generic in sound to me and certainly not as dynamic as ruby blue which was one of the most refreshing sounds in the last years. the only interesting thing about it was the accompanied image(which i believe is or will be the art for the album cover)of her in V&R complete with those dangerous lighted fixtures.

Ruby Blue is one of my fave albums ever i completely understand u, but Overpowered turned out to be quite a grower for me after the inital disapointment.

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in Overpowered at first as I thought it was a bid for mainstream success. However, although it may be pop, it still has Roisin's unique stamp all over it. I love that she never repeats herself. She could have easily worked with Herbert again for Ruby Blue part 2 but instead opted for a full-on disco album. She comes from dance roots anyway with her Moloko work.

I love her.
