I had only recently discovered Russh magazine (about 6 months ago) but it no longer seems to be available in UK (the last issue I managed to get was issue 12).
It's a cracking magazine and farrrrr better than Australian Vogue!

Is anyone able to scan this issue for a Russh deprived Londoner!:flower: :flower:

Including:

-Ladies behind the lens-
A look at the new wave of female photographers

-Fashion editorial: The Soft Parade

-Fashion editorial: Supergrass

-Beauty Icon: Jane Birkin

^My university bookstore gets Russh...but I haven't seen that issue. Is it the newest one? :flower:

^ You lucky girl! It's the latest one. Do you have the previous issue by chance? I'm trying to get hold of the one's I've missed.

Do you read Russh Faith Akiyama?

^I don't :D But I'll check which issue my bookstore has right now (They've had the same one for a while  ), and I'll get back to you! :flower:

^ I really appreciate that darling! Have a cool weekend. :D

I think the issue 15 should be coming out soon though... ^_^

i  russh! Ever since i discovered it vogue does not compare (australian that is). Anything in particular you girls are after from the mags? I have both the current issue and the previous one but dont have a scanner. I can take some pics of it and post if you'd like. Just tell me what you're interested in.

Fabulous songbirdsel! Russh is like a wonderful secret!^_^

Could you tell us what else is in the magazine article wise etc?

And could you photograph the fashion editorials?:flower: :flower:

I'll set up a thread for the previous issue too and you can post images on there of issue 13!

Oh, I'm so happy to chat with people who love Russh too!

I can't see the pics now except the cover in #7. This magazine is available here but I actually haven't read it. What is it like? Almost all contents are editorials?

It's hard to describe what makes Russh great....

First all there are models on the cover! Shock horror! No celebs!:woot:
The covers are quite beautiful. Here are some past ones:

Secondly, Russh really promotes Australian designers and talent, interviewing them and including the clothes in their editorials (that's something you don't see in Australian Vogue).

Thirdly, there aren't very many editorials (that's not why I like it, but I was just answering your earlier question;) )

Fourthly the articles are great (they aren't full of trend reports that seem to be so proliferate in most fashion mags :innocent: ), it isn't high brow stuff but they are v readable with a usual interesting slant on subjects.

Fifthly they always have a section on past "style icons" like Jane Birkin, Anita Pallenberg etc... I'm sucker for those things:blush: But also there's generally I really nice tone throughout the magazine, somehow the editor manages to incorporate her personality without imposing it on the magazine ( cool mix of influences from Patti Smith, Carine Roitfeld...). It's not dictatorial but it's like one of those cool, slinky girls you see on the street or at a party who happens to sit down next to you and the next thing you know you're reminiscing about childhood crushes and raving about the underground music scene...I know that sounds weird but as I said Russh is pretty hard to describe....maybe another reader can put it better!

But Kanna if you see an issue instore, it's definitely worth a flick through:flower:

Ok girls here goes, sorry about the quality my first time with the camera and editorials!
As far as articles go, Dont mind the gap- older men younger women, Ladies behind the lens - new wave of female photographers, Astrology Guide- Forecast for 2007, The tanning wars - when faking it is the best and Cry me a river - breaking up is hard to do. My fav has to be the female photographers one, ill see how it photographs for reading. Likewise there is a really good shopping guide to Paris ill give that a go as well.

ps. 1karina1 your description is pretty much spot on! Its just not your typical fashion mag where you can feel how pretencious everything is, its just a really good mix of fashion and art. xx

That's the last issue I have - I wonder why it suddenly disappeared! Perhaps it wasn't being bought so much in UK...:(

Thanks so much *Bianca* and songbirdsel for your pics! Karma to you both

If you could songbirdsel it would be brilliant to read the article on female photographers :flower:

Yay thanks for using these :)

Ah, karina! My bookstore just changed their issue to the one in your first post, but the cost is $12.50 USD, and I'm not sure if I'm inclined to purchase it yet (Seeing that nothing interests me immensely within the issue) What did you want exactly from it? :flower:
