fashionweekdailyAnna Ewers continues her ride as mod du moment with the news that she’s the latest face (and THAT face!) to front Mango’s Spring/Summer campaign. Josh Olins shot the Women Management rising star with Sally Branka and Esther Langham, on make-up and hair duties. Ewers replaces Daria Werbowy and past heavyweights Miranda Kerr, Penélope Cruz, and Milla Jovovich as the face of the Spanish brand. “Honestly I want to wear almost everything – it was the perfect collection for me,” Ewers says about their looks. “These are clothes for the girl that I want to be.” The casting caps off a huge month for the German native who appears on the cover of W‘s November issue and was shot by Steven Meisel for the coveted 2015 Pirelli calendar, which also includes Gigi Hadid and Sasha Luss. That Alex Wang guy is also a major fan. We suspect that we’ll be writing a lot more about Anna Ewers in 2015 and beyond.
First Estée Lauder and now Karl Lagerfeld – Kendall Jenner is on a campaign spree. Shortly after announcing her stint as the new face of the cosmetics giant, the Kardashian sister is in the studio with none other than the Chanel designer.
Jenner has just been tapped to appear in the SS15 campaign for Karl Lagerfeld's eponymous label. According to WWD, she was photographed by Lagerfeld himself at his Paris studio alongside other campaign stars Sasha Luss, Ming Xi and Baptiste Giabiconi.
Lagerfeld is proving to be one of Jenner's biggest fans in the fashion industry, casting her in both Fendi and Chanel shows. The younger Kardashian is also reportedly due to walk for Lagerfeld in December's Métiers d’Art show in Austria, having opted for the luxury presentation over the Victoria's Secret show, which is scheduled for the same day.
The 19-year-old model seems to be on a roll, although it seems hardly surprisingly given her recent record of success. Since she was revealed on Saturday as the Estée Lauder campaign star, the brand has gained a jaw-dropping 50,000 new followers on social media. Guess Instagram fame really does pay off, huh?

wwdNEW MODEL: While Kendall Jenner seemed to be the talk of the beauty industry with her newly signed gig for Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden Inc. has signed 20-year-old model Karlina Caune as its brand ambassador, which could be a strategic move to attract a younger consumer. Caune will appear in the brand’s advertising campaigns and marketing programs beginning in spring 2015. Also, she will be active on Elizabeth Arden’s digital and social platforms.
WATER WORKS: Jason Morgan is the new face of Giorgio Armani’s Acqua di Giò men’s scent, WWD has learned. The model will appear in an international campaign photographed by Matthew Brookes, which is due to break globally in February. Jacob Sutton lensed the corresponding film. Morgan succeeds Simon Nessman, who has fronted Acqua di Giò since 2012. The scent was first introduced in 1996 and remains a bestseller for Armani, whose beauty license is held by L’Oréal.
NEW YORK — Rafael Nadal will be stripping down to his underwear again.
Tommy Hilfiger Corp. has signed Nadal to serve as global brand ambassador for the Tommy Hilfiger underwear and Tommy Hilfiger tailored collections. The 28-year-old tennis star, who has signed a two-year agreement with Hilfiger, will be photographed in Spain early next year and will appear in the fall underwear and tailored clothing ad campaigns. Laird & Partners will create the ads that will run in print, online and on billboards worldwide. The photographer hasn’t been confirmed yet. In addition, Nadal will attend exclusive Hilfiger launch events in North America, Europe and Asia.
This is the second underwear modeling gig for Nadal for a major fashion brand. In 2011, he appeared with Megan Fox in steamy ads for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans.
Industry sources estimate Nadal’s two-year Hilfiger deal could be worth $3 million to $4 million. Hilfiger officials declined comment.
TOKYO—Lady Gaga will be the face of Shiseido's 2015 New Year's ad campaign in Japan - and she will also be its photographer. The pop star shot 50 different selfies of her famous face, and each one of which will appear in a different Japanese newspaper over the New Year period, which is typically a busy shopping time across the country. Forty-six of the ads will be published on Thursday, January 1, and the remaining four will be published on Monday, January 5. Newspapers that will be running the ads include both national and regional publications, but Shiseido has no plans to use the ads outside of Japan.
