Sarah Michelle Gellar

She hated doing those scenes actually and said it felt demeaning.

Nothing against her. I just think its funny what celebs will do to help boost their career when they need it.

She said that they were demeaning to the character not her personally. A lot of fans agreed with her actually.

She also never said she wouldn't pose for men's magazines or show skin or do graphic sex scenes (though she did say she didn't like gratuitous sex scenes which isn't the same as graphic, for example the sex scenes in Lust, Caution are graphic but not gratuitous). I've yet to see a quote condemning actresses for doing the same...considering she has posed for men's magazines before (Esquire for example). She was also quoted a long time ago saying that she would never say "never" to nudity as one day she might feel beautiful enough to do a nude cover ala pregnant Demi Moore.

She did Maxim because she probably felt she was at the point where she could do it and not regret it. She regretted the Rolling Stone photo shoot that she did a few years ago (since she was pressured into doing it) and didn't want to go that route again. She also probably did it because as she mentioned, she's playing a p*rn star in Southland Tales. It's a bit of a backhanded compliment to Maxim but funny and appropriate.

I was surprised by how classy her shoot was in comparison to what Maxim usually puts out.

Anyway, I love everything she's been wearing lately. So cute. :)

No, she said doing them felt degrading as an actress. But she also said they were degrading to the character.

Sarah Michelle Gellar may be making her triumphant return to television!
Our beloved Buffy is “looking at various TV scripts and weighing her options.”
SMG is said to be disenchanted with the film scripts she’s receiving.
Do it! Come back to TV.
Just make sure it doesn’t suck!

^ We do seriously need this woman back on our TV screens. Tis a far uglier place without her.

doesn't she have an agent?? why can't she make some good choices when reading a script?! those movies she's played in lately were awful! maybe she should just go back to buffy...

and regarding her style it's definitely improving

I'm pretty certain she said that the portrayal was degrading in regards to BtVS and her character on that show. She hasn't said the same for certain characters she has played in movies like Cruel Intentions, Harvard Man etc. because they were very different characters. We can agree to disagree on this one as I can't find the original quote.

lonn3k3 This is how the business works: Good/interesting scripts don't necessarily turn into good movies. According to script, Scooby Doo was a originally supposed to be an adult parody not a kid's film. *shrug*

Her movies might suck, but she is laughing all the way to the bank...cuz she still gets paid!!! "The Grudge" was a huge hit for her though. Plus, Miss Gellar is still getting a Buffy royalty check I am sure. ;)

I'm not as savy on Buffy sites as a I used to be but I specifically remember her saying she felt degraded as an actress. But you are right too that she also did not like what it did to her charactor.

^ Definatly! Although I wouldn't start with the first season because its not as good as some of the others. Maybe watch a few random reruns on TV to get you into it and then start from the beginnning with season 1.

Guys should I check out "Buffy"? I've never seen an episode before.

definitely!! it's a great show the second season is incredible but the first one not very impressive! anyway you should check the show out from the very beginning

^ In season one they were still finding their niche, but it is still waaaay better than the Buffy movie!

Great pics RoseMary, she looks lovely at the glamour awards, I dont remember seeing them, any more pics?:D
