Scarlett Johansson Gets Mixed Reviews For 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' Broadway RevivalCritics are not unanimous in their verdicts
Scarlett Johansson is no stranger to the Broadway stage, having won a Tony Award for her role in Arthur Miller's 'View From The Bridge' back in 2010. But the success of her current stint in a revival of Tennessee Williams' 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' is proving harder to measure.
From a sales point of view, it seems to be going down a treat, with over 9000 tickets sold for the first four weeks of the run. With top-price seats selling for a costly $94, that's quite an impressive feat.
Time will tell if it manages to flaunt some staying power and fare better than 'Dead Accounts', which starred Katie Holmes and unfortunately lived up to its title when poor sales meant it had to close seven weeks earlier than planned.
From a critical standpoint, however, the success of 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' is a little more ambiguous.
Critics are divided over Johansson's performance, with Britain's Daily Telegraph saying audiences "will not be disappointed" with her, and The Hollywood Reporter praising her "bold choices" but questioning her lack of "vulnerability".
The New York Daily News was harsher, saying she is "alarmingly one-note" and has a voice with the "musicality of a foghorn".
she has a new ring on her engagement finger.

Let's hope she didn't get another naff tattoo.
