Scene Queen Style

/\intrigueing indeed. they ahve a whole site devotd to this stuff, and the main reason these folks have any notereity at all:

www.buzznet.com

although i cant speak badly about them, as im a member of buzznet, have spoken to some of these 'scene queens' and won a gibson LP from them.

Please delete this thread, its embarrassing and not a trend.

i think its definitely a trend... it will be one of the looks, along with the emo look and mismatched indie cardigan look, that define the 2000s.. i cant think of any other overriding style that people will remember as a genuine 'noughties' look. of course, not all of us dress like that, but not everyone in the 70s wore flares and yet thats the look we think of when we talk about the 70s.

it may not be to everyones taste but i think its certainly an important part of todays culture and will be part of style history forever

I agree that these are high school kids pretty much. Very trashy, trying to be subversive and failing miserably. Don't like the culture, don't like the look...

^Agree, it's too pathetic, i definitely don't like this look and culture (?).

i have a four letter word to describe this style...

it begins with an s
there's an h in the middle
and an i
and it ends with a t.

^Oh god yes!

I hate these people so much.

they suck at everything, dressing themselves up, keeping their wrists intact and keeping away from coke.

I don't think it's particularly original as I've seen it all before, but I do like parts of it.

It does make me feel strangely old though. I'm guessing that most of these girls are in their early 20's? I'm probably younger than most of them.

And yeah, I remember being a little frightened when it said "scenester" next to my name too! :P

It's a trend whether it's cool or totally embarrassing. Lol.

you know its so weird. i rarely see people out of high school in this look. When I was in hs, so many girls had this look. It was ridiculous. I imagine they must have woken up so early to dispense and entire can of hairspray on their heads to get the look. After I left hs and went to college, I stopped seeing this. There are people here or there but when I see high schoolers, i still see it. It's really primarily a hs thing i guess. Or just not a look too popular in college. or at least my college

I find it annoying that these people consider themselves individuals, even though they all look the same!
