Shakira is a good role model.She's talented,nice and pretty.She also does a lot for charity.

Of course there's self promotion there but, isn't that something every singer or whoever is in the "showbizz" do? some go to "Celebrity Talk Shows",other do cameos on tv series or "Sports relief" or whatever tv marathon supoorting a cause there is, it's oromotion at the end of the day i think

Shakira's Trip to Haiti

Showing support by lending a helping hand, Shakira paid a visit to Haiti to discuss her plans of building a children’s school over the weekend.

It’s been three months since a massive earthquake destroyed the island, and the “She Wolf” singer was spotted looking for a suitable site for the school which will focus on needy children.

"We need to think about the future of this country and of how Haiti's children can be useful to their societies tomorrow," Shakira said. "Education is one of the fundamental tools with which to develop and rebuild Haiti."

The singer said she believes that providing education to the many displaced and orphaned Haitian children is a key part of the reconstruction efforts.

Shakira is one of several major artists that have collaborated on a new charity single, which will raise funds towards Habitat For Humanity's work with the victims of the recent earthquake in Chile.

the song seems like a bad mashup to me. they should have gotten someone actually from Africa to sing on it, perhaps Youssou N'Dour.

Well, they did the same with Ricky Martin (France 1998) i think it was "La Copa de la vida" it turned out not only to be massive at the time but, it also gave him worlwide fame, not that Shakira needs it (she's already known worlwide) but yeah could have had someone else signing (this comes from someone who likes Shakira) The best worldcup track was from Italy'90
