Share your look book

when I look at my look book I have to laugh: when I was 12 I used to love trench coats, a lot of black, skirts and high heels. then I liked preppy stuff and now (I'm 16) I wear the stuff I liked when I was 12

Im embarassed when I look at the sorts of things i used to wear... ugh, high waisted 'mom' jeans (when I was 7!). I've been meaning to go out and buy a corkboard and pin all my favorite looks on it. I think it will add colour to my room.. If that fails, I like all your ideas and I might steal them :p !!

I have been doing this all day. I would rather do a 'lookbook' on the computer since I don't buy magazines anymore. It's actually a mood board too.

I have 3 plastic folders. One with Interiodesign, one with my oldere "scrapbook-like-pages" and one with editorial photos or outfits.
I have two shoe boxes with photos that are to be put in my scrapbook. One for fashion and one for interiodesign.

In my scrapbook I try to keep it gue it in by either color, a citytema, skirts, tshirts or something like that. But there is magazins that I simplely cant cut. Vogue/teen vogue/Costume/Tique/elle. I just cant

^ Thanks for sharing that with us! Your book is beautiful, and I love all of the looks you chose. :)

Lacroix, the covers of your look book are beautiful. Mine's just a chocolate brown folder.

I like the look of when there are a lot of little clippings arranged to a collage, but I don't have the patience to do so. So far I only rip pages which I like, as in editorials. I also take a look at all catalogs I can get my hands on and save the ones I like or rip out pages I like. I like to update my look book quite often, take off the photos that no more make me feel inspired. Every page in my look book has to evoke feelings of love and desire for fashion to me, there shall be nothing mediocre. I seem to sound almost fanatical about this! However, I like doing this. I just bought a bunch of magazines from the airport and am looking forward to finally have had read them.

Pavement, that's great, I've never thought of making one on the computer like that. The ones I've made on computers looks like crap.

Lacroix, I agree the covers are absolutely stunning, great job. ! Nothing like mine
Also I like that you have just ripped out the pics. :flower:

Would having one outfit on one A4 page be too simple? .

no i think that is a good idea. Simple isnt always bad. at least you have a clearer view of an outfit rather than piecing various things together from various pages like i do.

I have a look book and now im doing a personal choice look book. Im going to photograph and catalogue everything i actually own so that i can piece together outfits better and compare my wardrobe to things id like to buy from look book. They should work as a pair. Also i'll know what i have and not forget anything! It'll take a while but itll be worth it in the end. Does any one do this or something similar already?

I have no problem cutting up my magazines. I have so many, it would be pointless to leave them intact, because I will never get around to looking through all of them. So I just cut them out.
I'm a little hesitant to cut my $15+ magazines though...because well, they were $15.

i cut up glossies such as look, grazia, tatler etc without a care in the world. However i will never ever hack at a vogue! I just try to find the outfit or ad online or in another magazine. To cut up vogue would just be a crime! I have every issue since 2000 in the bottom of my wardrobe! is that sad?!

^ I guess I should be serving a life sentence then. I always cut up my Vogues and then throw them away.

I think your "choice book" is a good idea. I think I might be do something similar, thank you for the idea.

I cut up and got rid of all my US Vogue issues, but would probably never cut up my Italian or French Vogues. I still hate having to keep things around though.

But there is magazins that I simplely cant cut. Vogue/teen vogue/Costume/Tique/elle. I just cant

Teen Vogue must be awesome in Norway. I ended up with one once, and couldn't wait to get rid of it. US Elle is nothing remarkable either.

Tinetush, Thanks.

^ It's the same Teen Vogue over there; Scandinavian countries don't have their own editions of Vogue, there's no Danish Vogue for example ;) But to each their own. For me, the only magazine I don't want to cut is Lula.

glad i could inspire. Hope it goes well! good luck hunny

Wow what beautiful and inspiring lookbooks people have posted.

And its also interesting to see how other people decide to do thiers. I agree with those that said lookbooks are a personal thing. I haven't been doing it very long, and I personally think that my lookbook looks very unoriginal in the layout and concepts but I'm learning as I go. :D

I try to group things together into a particular look, or colour scheme or theme etc. I find that its very time consuming though and I just never get to spend as much time on it as I'd like.

I also like to think that each page is a work in progress, so I slowly add things that go with the particular theme for the page until its finished. This can take months lol.

Here are a few pages from mine.
