Share your look book

i guess i must be the only tech geek who does it using microsoft one note

No way that's an awesome idea. Wish I was tech savvy enough to do that. It would probably save me lots of time which would leave more time to work on my lookbook ^_^

Either that or it would take me even longer due to my knack for stuffing up anything technology related :hardhead:

ACEBERG - your doing well for someone that has been doing it long. what people dont understand when they first create a look book is just how much they expand! Its great that youve got lots of space to build up the old and new. I tend to cover over things that i no longer like with new stuff thats why some pages are considerably thicker than others! keep it up!

astatine - i use one note but i prefer to have a hard copy! however its good for when i see pics online that i cant find in hard copy for whatever reason!

rochas - just do it! Youll be surprised just how easy it is and how much you understand your style better! just remember it takes more time that you think! good luck and show us your progress if you can!

satin chic - my very first look book (of celeb beauty shots for make up tips! i think thats how i learnt to apply make up!) was created using publisher. The file can be a tad large after a while but you can add notes around using text buttons and word art. Or you can create a adobe photoshop or its eqivalent to create a photo book. You can create one big file and chapters within depending on each look and add notes using one of the menus! There are so many ways to do it on your computer. you dont need any really high tech stuff, just use what youve got!

^ Thanks litchickuk ^_^ I use this glue that comes off easily so I already have been pulling out pictures and repasting them etc. Lol. But I'm looking forward to getting better at it ;)

I've got microsoft publisher at home -sounds like a good idea - I might give it a go.

I'm also going to put your 'choice book' idea to use, when i get more time. (perhaps after I finish my law degree - this is my last year, fingers crossed). I'm really excited about this idea. Especially having it there to compare to my lookbook.

litchickuk I'd love to see a couple of pages from your lookbook or choicebook :flower:

Thank you litchickuk! :woot: Using Publisher is a neat idea and I guess it's even easier than Photoshop (which I own and love to use, but I was looking for a method that takes less time). I'll definitely try that!

Aceberg - good luck with your choice book. Though mine is still being compiled and wont be finished for a little while I already can see the value and usefulness of it! When its finished ill be relieved as it can be a bit tedious at time but knowing how simple outfit choosing will be in the end is enough to make you push on. Ill reveal it to y'all when its complete!

Wanna see my look book eh?! Well if y'all are good i will post a few pages in the next couple of days! Hows that?!

Aceberg and satin chic - good luck with your publisher look book attempts. Its much more versatile than the old pen and paper and much easier to edit. As i mentioned before the file can get a bit huge so i recommend that you compress and/or winzip it when it gets to a considerable size. Its also good to burn it on to a CD so you dont have to worry about it taking up loads of your hardrive and easily transferable to show your friends your fabulous ways. Ill see if i can locate one of my first attempts to show you what did if thats useful to you in anyway.

|I love the participation in this thread. Its really nice to know that i have allies in my fashion obsessed world that do the same as me, as when i first starting doing it people thought i was nuts and a bit of a loser with major delusions of grandeur. however now i know that im just one of many who is so inspired by various things that they must all be noted so they will not be forgotten!

^ Aww litchickuk :( But I'm very glad you perservered so you can guide myself and other TFSers in the ways of the lookbook :p

You know thats part of the reason I dont show anyone else my lookbook (well my friends in real life) - I just dont think they would understand or would think I was shallow or exactly what you said that people would think I am "a bit of a loser with major delusions of grandeur"

Satin Chic let us know how the publisher works out for you :flower:

These are some of mine.

I've gone through a few. The first one was a collection of beautiful pictures and also any and every picture of Natalia Vodianova that I could find--I was in love  haha. Then I started another one, with just pictures I've liked. I'm on the third one now, which is actually a combination of the pictures that I still like from the first two, stolen from the original books, and new pictures and articles that I find interesting. I've discarded the old books, recycling them and the cut-outs that don't pertain to me anymore. I try to organize the pictures in a way that looks good, and I think I've learned a lot about color combinations through that too.

I meant to post more, but I'm having a bit of trouble with resizing my images, so....

But I've wanted to contribute to this thread a long time. Hope you guys like it!

I'm about to start my look book. And whenever I have some pages glued down I'll be sure to post them!

omgosh! I am so inspired by this! I'm going to run out and get a scrapbook and pull out all my old fashion magazines and go crazy!!!

Ok, so I spent part of the afternoon cutting and searching for inspirational looks. And I had a hard time. I'm guessing you can pretty much go about this anyway you want to, but I didn't want to cut out everything I saw that was gorgeous, just things I either wanted or quotes I loved or beauitful makeup or even just a photograph in a magazine. But for me the clothing was harder. I'm making this more as a creative outlet and a way to find "my style." And so far the things I have are confusing me. I'm trying not to think and just flipping through the pages and if something catches me eye, take a second look and see if it's worth keeping. Any advice? Thanks.

My lookbook is definately a mixed bag

If I see a picture, and it reaches out to me in some way, be it makeup, outfit, mood, style, whatever - I'll take it and put it in this book. Even if it's a picture of someone I don't particularly like, or aspire to be like, if the picture gets to me, I keep it.

I'm kind of feeling like I'd like to start a new one though :woot:
