Shoe sizing

Alessandro dell `Aqua? I'm desperate to know ASAP! TIA!

no idea, but what style of shoe?

if it´s open toe, I suggest you get ur normal size
if it´s closed toe, pointy shoe, go 1/2 larger just in case, same with boots
and if it´s rounded toe you can go your normal size as well

and if it´s european size and you happen to be a size 6 like me.. always get a 36.5

36´s fit nicely but sometimes too tight, so a 36.5 should save your life

Thanks! Spoke to SA and customer service and they told me that they were true to size.

Anyone have any idea how Pollini shoes fit? I found these boots that in size 37, but I'm a true 37.5, but they're leather so I'm thinking they'll stretch...

First post:)

Just to add:

Balenciaga (at least the pair I own): true to size
Dries Van Notten: true to size
Prada: I went size smaller than usual.
Chloe: true to size

^^ Would it be safe to say to go down on Miu Miu as well?

Don't know if this is the right place to ask...
I'm seriously in love with a pair of Marc Jacobs heels but they are just a tiny bit big at the back. I can put my finger in the back of the shoe but my foot doesn't lift out when I walk. Also, they are a little too narrow for me at the toe  but apart from those things, I love love love them! The price is really nice too (well nicer than the original anyway  ) So what do you guys say ... should I buy? My mother reckons that if I get them I'll wear them once and they will be at the op shop in six months

you can have your cobbler put a leather piece on the heel of the shoe and you can have them stretched on your toes but that would make your shoe bigger.

however, if your foot does not lift up when you walk then you can have the toe area stretched and put the leather in the back and it should do the trick :)

Thanks so much for your advice! The lady at the store put these leather things in the back to kinda fill that space up but even they didn't help...maybe I needed a few layers of it!! I think the main thing was that when my my mother, the SA and even my normally non practical friend looked at them they all said that you could see that little gap.

Does (insert brand name here) run large or small?

I couldn't find a thread on this topic but if I missed it could a Mod please merge?

I find myself ordering more things online but am hesitant when it comes to buying shoes from brands that I've never tried before in case they run large or small (I hate the hassle of returning things ^_^...and often don't even have that option if they're on sale). I thought it might be useful to have a general thread to ask opinions on different brands sizing.

I'm currently thinking about buying some Jeffrey Campbell booties...can anyone let me know if their shoes run true to size?

merged. :flower: i guess you know you've been around for awhile when you remember these things...^_^

i'm glad to bump this back up again because it is such a useful thread.

there are quite of bit of newer brands that sizing is a question.

Does anyone know how Azzedine Alaia shoes run? I'm planning on getting boots..

Thanks luckyme...I had a horrible feeling that a thread existed and I just couldn't find it.

no biggie, its good to test my memory cells every once in awhile. i wish i knew about jeffrey campbells but sorry i dont.

ann d. this season is only running 1/2 size large
that's all i know so far though.

i'm pretty sure softgrey will know about alaia's.

Alaia tend to run small I think, although I've never tried their boots.

Jeffrey Campbells run about a half size small, although it depends on the shoe. :flower:

Junya Watanabe and Undercover both use this infuriating XS, S, M, L sizing for shoes, which I have yet to comprehend... Would anyone happen to know what would correspond to an Italian 37-37.5 (US 7-7.5)?
