A thread about shoe sizing!

While searching for a thread I realized we don't have a topic about shoe sizing. I thought this could be thread about the different shoe sizing. If you’re not familiar with a shoesize you can post here and maybe some of the members have the shoes!
I’ll begin – anyone who owns a pair of Loeffler Randall? If so, do they run small sizes or?

I find that with Gina-you need to go up one size, D&G go down at least half a size,maybe even a full size

Ok, I'll repeat the question here.
I'd like to know one thing...
I'll buy Miu Miu shoes on net-a-porter, but I'm not sure about the size...
My size is 40 and on the soles of my Miu Miu shoes there is size 40...
But now I got a bit confused by the sizes on net-a-porter.
I measured my feet so my US size should be 9, my french size should be 40 and my italian size should be 39.
And on net-a-porter you order by italian size.
And I don't know... If I have Miu Miu shoes size 40 and they fit perfectly fine, should I order size 39, because maybe the size on my shoes could be french size (although they are not from france)?
I don't know... I'm confused. Help, please!!
Should I order 40 because it says 40 on the soles of my Miu Miu shoes or should I order 39 because I should be italian size 39?

I think there's the French size, European(Italian size), UK size and US size.

As for me, it translates as follow and true to most shoes.
Fr39, It 38.5, UK 6 and US 8.5

I have a size 9.5 in Steve Maddens and 10 in everything else. Can anyone tell me how Miss Sixty's and Christian L's run? Big or small or true to size?

CL generally runs about a half size big but only because a lot of his shoes run narrow..

However, it really depends on the style.

uggs size help

I bought a pair of the classic short Uggs online in size 7, since I wear 7-half shoes normally and the website recommanded me to go down half a size. I got them today and they are abit loose when I wear them barefoot. When I wear them with socks they are fine, but I'm scared they will strech later on. Should I go through the hassle of sending them back for a size 6? Please help.. thanks!

EU 36=UK3=US5
EU 37=UK4=US6

etc.EU 38 is US7,not 6.

i'd say EU 38 is a US 7,5 to be more accurate..
i've have lived in both the netherlands and belguim. i'm usually a EU 38 for flat shoes and sometimes a 37 for heels. i have for example the kors beaverton boots in a size US 7,5 and the fit well. i have mostly US 7,5 and EU 38. but yeah, it totally depends on the brand and country! sucks...

Does anyone know how Marc Jacobs shoes run? Compared to Elie Tahari? I'm usually a 38 or 38.5 but I recently received two pairs of Tahari pumps as a gift in a 38.5 and they were a tad too small. There are three pairs of MJ that i'm about to order but i'm afraid i'll get the wrong size.

Okay, i normally wear a 7.5 and I ordered 7's. They were a bit loose, but I didn't want to go thru the hassle of sending them back either. They stretched out a bit and now they are almost unwearable due to they rub blisters... yes I have gotten blisters from my uggs... so the next pair I purchased I purchased a 6. a bit snug at first, but after a bit if stretching (like 4 wearings) they are perfect!!! I hope this helps

Yes, I'd say just go through the hassle and get a 6. I'm normally a 8.5 and I ended up buying a size 7, which is perfect!

Any answers for Lanvin? - true to size, runs big or small?? I'm after a pair of boots and i don't know what size i should get. I'm normally a 38.


YSL Rive Gauche heels- true to size
Alexander McQueen flats- went size and a half down (run large).
Alexander McQueen heels- went 1 size down
Celine- depends. some flats run small, some true to size.
Pedro Garcia- runs a bit large
Marc Jacobs- very narrow for my wide feet

Just a few things to add....
I have found that Versace, Valentino, Burberry, Casadei and Zac Posen shoes run true-to-size generally. Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahniks run 1/2 size small. Christian Louboutins sizing depends on the style (see my guide to christian louboutin shoe sizing on ebay!). Choos, Blahniks & Louboutins do run narrow. Salvatore Ferragamo and Stuart Weitzman shoes run narrow, but I still get my normal size...if your foot is wide at any point, I would size up 1/2 size for comfort.

I'm buying a pair of Vivienne Westwood's pirate boots and I was wondering if anybody could explain the sizing to me? It can be found at http://www.hervia.com/Shoes-Pirate-Boots/c18_19/p121/Pirate-Boots-Black/product_info.html. Are they in American or European sizing? I'm questioning this because a size 3 is awfully small for American and I'm quite confused. So basically, if I wear an American 7.5/8, how would this translate into other sizing? If it is sized differently, that is.
