john, chic and ruggedness def come together and make beautiful music...aka ann demeulemeester. fashion rules are never "never" nor always "always" so you may one day find the mix you like, for now, I tend to agree the second boot is a bit forced and they definitely dont come close to the elegance that ann d. creates in her shoes/boots. perhaps thats precisely what is appealing about the second boot, after all, there are some mornings... a girls wakes up, wants to wear black toe polish and needs a really aggressive boot to express her mood, what better way to do it???
