Guys Cuban heeled wingtip laceups in patent/kid.

Picture from www.archieeyebrows.co.uk (aka Terry & Liz de Havilland)

rumor has it these are soon to be coming in ladies sizes with a higher cuban heel.

I like the shoe but I feel that the heel might be a little bit too high, It really depends on how you wear them if the proportions fit with your outfit I am leaning towards NAY but it you said how you would style them I might reconsider.

Sophia,

Thanks for the reply. Originally purchased to go with my YSL Black Tie evening suit, satin lapels and satin stripe on trousers (classic evening attire). They are perfect with that. Trouser hem worn to just break on the shoe as it should be, so leaves most of the heel exposed. Super for dancing in, either ballroom or latin.

I don't get to wear black tie that often, but would like to use the shoes more often, so looking for ideas really. Totally comfortable with the heel and its height as I also use the YSL Johnny boot (as avatar) and that has the same height heel.

Child of the early 70s when we blokes all rushed around on heels and as they are appearing once more, an so happy to go round once more.

Cheers,

Simon.

If you are doing it with a black tie look I would say YAY I just dont think they would work with a casual look.

Sophia, thanks for the YAY. Much appreciated. The patent does make it harder to work in a more casual setting.

Why would I get the feeling that the shoes in (Post #10,809) are unisex? Perhaps because of the heel. You know what? I'm going to Yay! these. The heel of those oxfords are about twice as high as my ankle boots. Not sure what outfits you're thinking of, but I think they're pretty cool for a formal outfit, or perhaps a semi-formal look.

I'll give them some credit. Nothing really bothers me about those, so that's a win for those shoes.

John M. - Perhaps the Archie Eyebrows mission statement of Dandy shoes for tough dudes. Check the website out, there are some really cool designs all based around the cuban heel whoich is 7cm and not 6cm as advertised.

ok... i originally asked this in the gladiator thread, but i've had no responses, so i think here is probably a better place to ask...

i'm heading to the usa in a week and i'm not sure whether to bring my tan gladiator sandals with me, they were really big in australia last summer, but i feel like that they're a little passe now.... especially since they were EVERYWHERE here!!!

they're similar to these - what do you guys think.. bring them aka yay :D, or leave them at home and buy a new style aka nay :yuk:???

Thanks :flower:

To me,gladiators are still in,so big Yay for that gorgeous pair^_^

More gladiator sandals? Y'all must really love these (though I am still easing up). I'm going to Nay! these (Post #10,810). They aren't a strappy nightmare (as some usually are), but I'm just not feeling these as much.

So that's all for me. Go ahead and yay these like I don't exist...

^whats that supposed to mean?

I love gladiators but only on people with nice legs lol if you like wearing them then Yay but if you want to try a new style then leave them at home
