Shop Design & Displays

1. Go to careers & education  They have a thread about buyers.

2. Here is the store display thread!

These are OK, but as a person with ambitions to own a small place of my own, and about to open a market stall with a small group of other makers, I'd love to see great examples of what folks have done with a little bit of money and a small space, rather than a lot of money and oodles of space.

^^ wow, thank you! so I guess it's 2 floors, shoes and accessories on the upper floor..

^The Milan Balenciaga has a much different feel than the others, doesn't it?

Has anyone else watched Mary Queen of Shops on UK TV? It's a show that has Mary Portas, who has turned serveral major chains around, helping small independent boutiques reinvent themselves to compete against the chains successfully. There's a lot on the show about the psychology of shop display and lay out, right down to the try-on rooms, lighting, how the stock is arranged, window display, all sorts of wonderful information.

^^ Wow wow, Max Azria looks very welcoming and beautiful. Don't you think it's a bit dangerous covering the building with all those flammable stuff though?? I hope they got it insured..

^yeah, it's very nice....and it looks even more amazing in person.
i stood out there for a while just looking at the place.
it's so mesmerizing....the swirls and all.
as far as insurance...i'm sure they are covered.

isn't the Balenciaga store of Milan is one of the ones Dominique Gonzales Foerster did??? I know she did the Tokyo boutique...
DGF is a contemporary artist... I love her...

Wow! The Dries store is so pretty in that picture. The only other picture I've seen of it looked rather dark. That must've been the 'library'.

Here it is. I guess it was just darker lighting. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up.
