Shopping on eBay

does anyone know if it's at all possible to open a new account if your old one has been closed? This is really silly, but I ruined my perfect feedback (several hundred transactions with only two retaliatory negatives by a seller who scammed me) by going to my summer house and forgetting all about ebay! I only bought CDs and vinyls, nothing expensive or too interresting, and forgot all about it. Well this one seller reported me to ebay for two or three items, and a second seller reported me for one, and I got unpaid item strikes (serves me well, I guess:doh:) and by the time I got back home, my account had been closed. I didn't read my emails all summer
I don't consider emailing the sellers and offering to pay for the items now as a solution, as these were collectible items and I'm sure they have resold them by now. Anyway, my problem is that I've found a pair of boots that I want to buy, but without an account I can't! Help?!?

i am sure you can open a new one as a lot of people seem to do..

do I need a new email address to do so? I thought ebay asked for cc info or something to open a new account? (to check identity, I suppose) I opened an account for my mother a few months ago, and I think I remember something about needing her cc, but I'm not sure. I could always use my mom's account, but then the emails would end up in her mailbox, and I don't want her to see how much I'm spending :innocent:

I found this on eBay's site:
Note: If you register using a Web-based (anonymous) email address, such as an email address from Yahoo! or Hotmail, you'll need to place a valid credit or debit card on file to verify your identity. Your card will be used for identification only and will not be charged. If you don't want to place a credit or debit card on file, you'll need to register with an email address from a company or paid Internet Service Provider, such as AOL.

Why don't you try contacting eBay with your problem? Or else, just go through the sign up process and see where it takes you. A lot of people create random accounts and don't put down their cc (like those people who have accounts to send SPAM).

The account I opened for my mom was with an email address from a paid internet provider, but I still needed her credit card. Maybe because it's an European provider that ebay didn't recognize? I don't know. I'll try to open a new account and see where it takes me. The auction for the boots I want ends in a day, so I better hurry. Thanks for the help :flower:

Hello people, does anyone know a US buying/bidding service that will bid on items for you then reship the item to other countries? There's an item I really want yet the seller will only ship to a confirmed US address. I know there's www.us-buyer.com for example which does it for Japan, I've emailed them if they could send a package to Canada instead, but so far no answer.

Thanks!

edit: I see that STS has closed
but their site mentions a few alternate providers, maybe you can check them out? :flower:

Can anyone see if they're fake?

Thanks

njalle, those are fine..
i doubt anyone would fake that series of adidas since there are sooo many different ones!

Presumably not, but you never know when shopping on eBay

I was just wondering, how many Kermit shoes did Adidas make? I thought all Adicolor shoes were limited...

no no njalle, there are tons in london all around town as well as in NY soho.. ive seen them everywhere

There you go... I haven't seen them anywhere in Copenhagen, not even WoodWood, which designed the pink P1 edition sold them. They only sold their own and the Colette ones, I think. Just out of curiousity, how much do people pay for them?

Ah okay, I think I'm going to buy them on eBay anyway. Although they're quite normal, apparently, I love them

Did the seller provide you in a tracking number? Two weeks sounds like a long time, but it depends on what type of service she used and what is the estimated shipping time. If she didn't use any sort of express or priority, then two weeks sounds about right. You should send her another e-mail asking her what type of service was used, what is the estimated delivery date and if there was any tracking number. If, say, she tells you she used Australia Post's bla bla bla service, you can go on their site and see how long packages usually take. Good luck!:flower:
