Shopping on eBay

does anyone know if it's at all possible to open a new account if your old one has been closed? This is really silly, but I ruined my perfect feedback (several hundred transactions with only two retaliatory negatives by a seller who scammed me) by going to my summer house and forgetting all about ebay! I only bought CDs and vinyls, nothing expensive or too interresting, and forgot all about it. Well this one seller reported me to ebay for two or three items, and a second seller reported me for one, and I got unpaid item strikes (serves me well, I guess:doh:) and by the time I got back home, my account had been closed. I didn't read my emails all summer
I don't consider emailing the sellers and offering to pay for the items now as a solution, as these were collectible items and I'm sure they have resold them by now. Anyway, my problem is that I've found a pair of boots that I want to buy, but without an account I can't! Help?!?
:D Keya I did that too, and i change my user name and email address and its working fine even though I had to change my name around a lil bit.I had a friend who told me that she did it and she still uses it.So if you want to do that then you can open a new account.

I have seen these 98 colour eyeshadow palettes everywhere on ebay...they are by J'adore. I've seen them priced from 7 cents to 30 dollars. Why are some so cheap? Has anyone tried them? Are the colours very strong?

I'm thinking about buying one, but I've never bought on ebay...and I'm a bit worried!!! Would appreciate any advice!

I say just go for it. It seems like your curiousity is sparked and you should buy it when its around 7 cents. Then you'll have no regrets. Makeup is always worth trying.

I found this vintage bag on ebay that I wanted and there was a Buy It Now price so I bought it and payed straight away. This was days ago (friday?).

Now I just got a message from eBay customer Service saying: "Unfortunately, eBay removed this auction-style listing because it violated eBay policy. We hope you understand that, due to privacy concerns, we're unable to discuss the details of this violation.

All bids or offers on this listing have been canceled. Because the listing was ended, you no longer have any obligation to purchase this item".

Well, I already payed for this item 3 days ago, now what? I mailed customer service backed and asked what to do, but it said I will recieve a reply in 24-48 hours, so I thought I'd check here if this had happende to anyone and what to do. Will PayPal refund me? I also sent a message to the seller asking what was going on. I don't want any problems with the seller etc..

I'd kindly ask the seller to refund you the money because there'd been a misunderstanding and you already payed before getting the message that the item is no longer available for purchase...
I don't know what else you could do, sorry...

ok, thanks for answering! :flower: I hope it'll work out without any problems!

therese: If the seller is unresponsive, you can also get a refund through PayPal. It has to be done within 30 days of payment, so don't let the seller give you the run-around until the time has passed. Good luck!

Thanks that's actually very helpful, I didn't know about that 30 days rule! Karma :flower:

I have bought sunglasses on the false pretense that I was getting a great deal only to have them fall apart. But I'm probably a fool for saying this but I want to buy again from a seller that is selling these gucci sunglasses for 50% off. He says he will pay me back 200% if they are fakes and his feedback says that he has sold other people authentic stuff. Should I give it a try or am I just wasting $150?

How would you prove that they were fakes? You might be able to tell but he probably won't give you a 200% refund unless you can *prove* it. I think it's worth a shot, but I would be cautious. I don't know if you can take sunglasses to the store to have them authenticated. :ninja: You might want to look at bluefly, they have some designer sunglasses from past seasons for under 100$

^^that's what I was thinking... I don't think he will refund you 200%, even if you send him back the glasses, cause he'd suffer a loss. everyone could say they're fake and get $150 for it....

^ I think he states the 200% back policy to insure that his ARE indeed authentic... a lot of sellers do that...

Are you sure that the more cheap ones aren't the ones that still have a few days left on them?

Some may be cheaper than others because of shipping, as well.

I'd go for it.

There's nothing worse than an auction ending in the middle of the night your time.. and waking up to see you have been outbid by 1 measly dollar.. :(

^right i totally hate that or when i wake up to find that i lost.that really sucks
