Shopping on eBay

I just sold a bag on ebay. After the item was shipped the buyer sent an email saying not to ship item, she made a mistake and bid on the wrong bag. We had good communication before the auction ended. I sent her lots of extra photos. I have in the auction that sale is final. She's offered to send it back and pay for shipping, ebay/paypal fees.

I don't want the bag back as it will be a hassel. But I don't want a negative either. If I take it back is it fair to keep $30 for the shipping and other fees? Or just refuse to take the bag back since it was a final sale.

If she already paid for the bag I find it a bit unlikely that she bid on the "wrong" bag. She probably just changed her mind, and if I was you I'd ask her to refer to the auction terms (final sale) and tell her that she can list the bag on ebay herself if she doesn't want it anymore.

ok i feel soooo cheeky posting this in a 3rd different thread but...

ok guys I need your help, not quite sure where to ask this but will in here. I just bought a vintage oleg cassini mini dress because it was a lot cheaper than I'd have expected. It's totally white beaded on the top and the straps kind of have cut-out bits so that they're almost double strapped, but totally beaded still. The bottom half is black crepe.

I reckoned after a dry-clean I could sell it on ebay but have neer done anything like that before so wondered what I should do? Put a reserve on it? How much do you think I could get, is oleg cassini recognised enough for me to make a profit? There's nothing listed on ebay.co.uk but ebay.com similar items are selling for 60-100 dollars. Its very confusing!

Depending on the year it was made and the condition, eBay customers are quite picky when it comes to that sort of stuff. So I doubt you could really get a full value for the dress on there. I suggest that if you really would like to made a little profit... Take some time and invest in it a bit, go to an authorized vintage resale boutique and have it appraised or contact an Oleg Cassini representative directly and let them answer your inquiry.

i don't do it unless its designer shoes or something obscure because I used to shop on ebay until I realized people can steal pictures and lie and that's not a good idea when you are spending your precious hard earned money

I don't think I will buy on Ebay for a while. I was tempted to bid and won an auction for some Dior Homme golden 6.5 Heels. However, it turned out to be a complete scam.

I love you! :woot:

^ I tried using the first one and it didn't work. The other ones didn't either.

hmm....i never believed in buying things (especially expensive things) from ebay. pay more, be safe.

online retailers have discounts from time to time. Plus, most have a return policy, so its alot safer.

I would love to buy a real Birkin from Hermes but I find it really scaring becasue most of the bags are fake or too expensive...

I really doubt the authenticity of any birkin on ebay, however if there was a real one to come up Im guessing they would charge you so much more extra..

It said that I couldn't use the 10% off one when checking out on my paypal account. Only for ebay... I didn't know you could use it in any other way?

There are real Birkin's on eBay but it's not even worth bidding, unless there was a limited edition or rare piece.

For one thing, I notice there is a lot of bid shielding, or when the seller artificially increases the price by bidding on the item from a separate eBay account or a family or friends account.

I figure if it means that much to someone, they deserve spending $2000 prices for a good quality fake. But the look on the Sales Assistant when they walk into an Hermes boutique with the fake is priceless!

I feel you.
I got scammed on Ebay recently too. I won the bid on a vintage dress and it was never sent to me though I paid up promptly.
The seller is now unregistered and Ebay and Paypal are NO HELP AT ALL.

^ Im sorry to hear that Princess, thats happened to me too but I still emailed paypal and ebay to complain, and I did eventually get my money back. The seller who conned me was no longer registered too.:flower:

Thanks for the advice, vintage. :flower:
I have hunted down some corporate contacts at Paypal, so I'll just to see how it goes.

Hell hath no fury like a baglover cheated

I've just signed up tonight and bought myself a pack of 36 derwent watercolour pencils...I hope they arrive alright. This stuff scares me when I don't know about it
