Short hair

thanks i probably really should have posted a before picture too or atleast how much hair was shaved off and ended up on the floor.

its alot shorter but doesnt feel overly different which im finding abit strange:lol:

looks great from what i can see elegance.! :flower:

my shaved head is managing to grow out pretty well....and i can finally wear a headband without looking silly...i have always wanted to wear a headband just once {michelle williams did it so well with short hair} and have never been able to pull it off...but i tried last night :P

OMG.....

I truly believe longer hair looks better than short hair. however, these ladies all look gorgeous with either cut.

have fun ladies!

so my hair is about chin length right now and it's bothering the hell out of me....so i'm getting a new haircut...AND i'm doing it with a new stylist....i've gone shorter but i'm so nervous!!! PS cute haircuts on top ^^

adore - you look adorable with the headband! are you planning on growing your hair out more?
elegance - the cut looks amazing on you! I'm extremely jealous of your hair texture .. it seems ideal for your cut

I'm starting to think my hair texture just isn't right for very short hair ... it's just too thick and straight. I recently cut my hair even shorter (similar to your old length, Adore), and every morning is a struggle to tame the cowlicks!! And overall, my hair looks a lot spikier than on others. But alas, I love having short hair. I tend to wear a lot of peasanty, romantic clothing, and the hair provides an edge that I didn't really have before. So I'll be struggling with my hair for a while!

tourist10 my hair is actually quite thick and has that tendency to frizz but i find it easier to tame it when its short for some odd reason. i was scared when i shaved it that it would be sticking out at all angles but because of the way my hair grows it lays flat against my head the only problem i have is my crown which no matter how much i try will always stick up since its so short.

saying that the hair troubles vary from cut to cut so i can never tell until i've done it:lol:

Thank you so much fot taking your time and answering so in detail pinksatin !! :flower::flower: I think youre right in terms of "Anja before Mariacarla" but I dont think I would have dared to go very very short straight away anyway. Ive uploaded a picture of me now so that you can say what you think (sorry because of the angle and black and white but its the only one where you can see my whole face).
...Oh and one more question - is Anjas cut very hard to style in terms of gettin ready in the morning and everything ?

Nobody wants to give me an advice ? :(

the only thing i can say: one year ago i had a haircut like anja's and if your hair is very strong/thick you should totally think twice about cutting it! it seems that short hair is always easy and fast to style but in my case it was the exact opposite. anyway i think shorter hair would fit you very well ^_^

ahh, I think I see what you mean. The back of your hair is much shorter than mine, and I think that helps in your case. I have the exact same thing, it lays quite flat in the back, but the swirl is pretty out of control  Every morning, I have to blow dry it down and apply a ton of product.

aliceinunderland - I completely experienced the same thing with short hair ... it definitely takes more work than my longer hair. But that said, I think it's worth it for me

cold_sun - I agree, short hair would suit you well!

oh man i just flipped through this thread and saw my picture from a year ago. i looked so bad :(
anyways. i decided to grow my hair out last december and so far so good. my hair is growing out and all but i want short hair again now! i can never make up my mind. the last time i said i will grow my hair out, i ended up cutting it because of a sudden poison i got in my body that resulted my hair to fall out 3 times than normal.
i guess i will just cut my hair short and buy a wig or something.

actually, about the strong and thick hair discussion on top. i have to disagree. i have thick hair and because it's thick and strong, it seems to hold a shape very well. at least when i had my pixie/bob cut, it styled by itself!

im not sure what hair style i wanna cut...my face shape restricts me to many awsome cuts :(

i agree muxu, my hair is pretty strong and thick too and the short cut makes it so much easier.

i went back to my usual stylist to get a trim today and am so happy with it. i was nervous because about 8 weeks ago i went to try a new hairdresser {i had a gift voucher} for a 'trim' and ended up with almost a shaved head all over again  luckily at this length it doesnt take long to grow!. anyway, needless to say, i am never trying someone new again. :P

I have long hair forever (really long) and if I ever get some guts, I'll have my hair cut like when I was 2 years old, just with less prominent bangs:

DAMN I was cute

Or just messy pixie-ish hair...my concern is that I will look like a boy :ninja:

^^ Cute, very cute! Oh I wouldn't know what to do if my stylist moved away or just stopped styling hair...That would be a sad day indeed :( Nevertheless, I've been going to his salon for over 6 years now and would never consider trying anyone new at this stage :P Good on you for staying faithful to your original stylist, he/she did a lovely job!

ida with your face you will never look like a boy  and just as my hairdresser said tonight when i said 'sometimes i think i look like a boy'...."then put some more eyeliner on!!!"

Brilliant  I'm glad that I've never been to the same hairdresser twice...then I get less attached  I must say that I'm not ready for short hair right now. Maybe when I'll start at uni and grow up :ninja: I could even let my mom but my hair like when I was 2

^ I think if anyone has an emotional attatchment to their long locks/hair-style a change is more than likely the wrong option...Seeing as you will probably leave the hair-salon unpleased with the result. So The_Ida I think you have made a wise decision
I took the plunge with short hair several years ago, and since haven't gone back. Best decision I had ever made ^_^

And adorefaith your tip on wearing more eye-make up is duly noted *makes note*:flower:

I have my hair cut like vintage Linda Evangelista, I have had the cut for a month and all I get are compliments. I will try to take a pic and post it. I think I have my signature cut:
