I'm hesitant about taking the plunge. I have a round face, short neck; my hair is very fine but i have a lot. I just don't know. But I really, really want to.
Plus, I'm really acne prone and I don't want to highlight that with my short hair.

I should just do it, no?

I have just had my hair cut very short... hidden undercut layers ..but the thing is it was only two weeks ago.. but i feel like i already need a trim.. i mean i always knew my hair grew quick but with my hair this short i notice it more and other people have commented on how quick its growing .. i odnt think i can afford to get my hair trimmed any more often then every 8-10 weeks or so

does anyone else have this problem ?? how do you get around it ??

I am the same.. and my hair really thickened up when i got it cut short .. i also had lots of thin hair .. infact the hairdresser even had to thin it out abit

I also found my skin cleared up abit, i had a heavy fringe and the hair on my face must have gien me spots.. but yea my skins cleared up a bit.. not that im really spotty

I find my self wearing heavier make up.. with longer hair i barely wore any but with my short hair i feel more exposed and like i have too.. and remember you can hide behind your hair anymore your face is right out there

maybe go graudally short ?? u can play about that way see how u get on with out nothng to drastic

Same here. Since I've had very short hair (almost two years now) I spend way more energy on make up. Partly because I have the time since my hair takes like 90 seconds to do. And partly so I still look feminine and pretty and not like a stereotypical "butch-lesbian" (not to be taken personally, but you know the stereotype). Also part of the time I've had short hair it was platinum blonde so I need more make up and color to not look washed out.

And I think it's good to go gradually too. I started with a choppy chin-length bob cut from past-the-shoulders hair. 4 months later I decided to go all the way with a pixie since I liked to so much. It's been that way ever since.

I had hair so long I could sit on it until I was 16 and since then its been gradually getting shorter and shorter. Yesterday I want from a louise brooks style bob to a jean seberg style crop and I love it! It was a little shocking at first, but it's so fuss free and I really love it now. Hopefully I'll post a picture soon.

I'm going tomorrow to chop off all of my hair. I had a stacked bob cut through my teenage years but then decided to grow it out after that. It's taken a couple years to grow this long and is currently about to the middle of my back... but I need a change, so I'm going back to short and I will lose about a foot of hair tomorrow. I like my hair long but I'm so bored of it by now.

If you're cutting off more than ten inches (you said a foot) then you should try to donate it. I think most hair dressers know what to do so just tell them ahead of time if you want to.

I ended up getting a very asymmetrical cut... it's a couple inches past my chin on one side and just about to my ear on the other.
