Simply Vera : Vera Wang for Kohl's

^ Me too about the Target part....
It makes me cringe to think of all the $$$ I have spent there.
I go in for one thing and come out with ten.:innocent:

I never really shopped at Kohl's until this line came out so it was a good move to get people in there who might not have thought of Kohl's.

I'm in Target every other day. I should own Target by now:)

i think i could count as a part-owner of target myself. i'm always like, 'oh, i'm just going to get some toilet paper, and then la, la, la...suddenly i have earrings, a scarf, some soap, maybe some shoes and half the store in my basket!

when i was growing up, my family shopped at kohls, so i have warm, fuzzy memories of shopping there with my mom and sisters for 'back to school.' but it wasn't until the vera wang line that i stepped into them as an independent adult. i think it's a solid, practical store, very good for bargains and sales, and besides the vera wang line, i really like a lot of the beauty products exclusive to kohl's, esp. from american beauty and grassroots. (those are estee lauder brands, at about half the estee lauder price.) i think it's a company in transition: some of the stores are still kinda, um, crazy, and some are really nice and pleasant.

I shopped at Kohl's long before this line was released - living in the middle of nowhere, you had little choice but to. :p If that means I'm a cheap, vile human, then so be it!

how old of a store is kohl's...
i had never heard of it until one opened up semi-near me maybe 3-4 years ago..

wow...i've read most of this thread, and it actually gave me hope and reason to go out one day and check this stuff out. i was really dissapointed though! i didn't think the cuts were at all flattering, and wasn't fond of the majority of the textiles she chose for the line...

i guess maybe im the minority here or something, but none of this appealed to me...

Well, you are going well after the September launch--it may be picked over by now. To give it a fair shot, I'd go back when the spring collection comes out. Or not--that leaves more for us ;)

maybe i'll try again for spring...i just thought it was a lil cheaply made for the prices...the jeweled shoes looked tacky...and that 1950's style coat (which i honestly was going to buy after seeing it in the ads) really just didn't look much like it and looked like it would pill like crazy. maybe it's just not my style. i was really intrigued after seeing the ads, i thought the clothes looked so cute and i loved the styling. it just wasn't the same when i saw them IRL.

i shop at target a lot too, with the go collections and whatnot...

i saw the picture of reece witherspoon wearing the simply vera coat. it looked GINORMOUS on her.
jun3machina, the stuff comes out intermittantly. the holiday stuff should be out shortly.

i hope stephane sednaoui does some new ads...

^ i just saw it on a magazine, too! it didn't look good at all, it looked like it was way too big on her

Wikipedia says Kohl's was founded in 1962.

hmmm..
probably the first one opened and it has been gradually expanding i would guess...
i'll look into it myself at some point if my curiosity sticks... so we don't get too far off topic in here..

back to vera! ;)

I got those short sleeve coats in black and tan. Luckily I snagged the size Smalls before they were gone. They aren't the most practical with the short sleeves and being so thin and unlayered but they look cute on. I basically have to wear a long sleeve sweater underneath so my arms aren't cold. I've been using the thin elastic belts from the coats on other outfits.

I went into Kohls yesterday and all the Vera stuff was on sale 40% off! I tried on some shoes, and I noticed that her shoes run really big. I usually wear a 7.5 but was fitting into 6.5 shoes! I actually was well-behaved and didn't buy anything though.

 40% off?! I went today but the stores in my area only had 20% markdowns. Booo!

Oh, and I noticed the same thing with the shoes. One pair of booties was almost 2 sizes too big! At least I got to feel dainty for a few minutes.

^ The Kohl's near me had the Vera things marked down only 20% as well.
And you could save another 30% by opening a card but I didn't want to go there.

I went again this weekend and bought the knee high boots in blk.
I didn't think they ran big. True to size for me.
And I bought a grey blouse.
It's a nice jersey material that's very balloon-y w/ a keyhole in the back under the neck.
Could have bought more but I was on a budget.

The Kohl's near me was 20% off, too. Originally everything was 40% off, but now it's gone down to 20%.

I'm wearing my purple shirt today and figured I would post a pic..

Nothing extraordinary but I dressed it down, got rid of the belt (which helps tremendously.. it's much better either tucked in or tent-like imo.. i've seen the light :p)
It was too cold to wear it short-sleeved and I need to get some new blk long-sleeved basic tops for layering etc..

Anyway, wore it with a blk Naf Naf tank underneath, grey knit cardigan from Zara with brwn elbow patches (the brwn wasn't ideal with the colors I was wearing but I worked with whatever I had :p) dark Habitual jeans and gray/blk/cream tweed converse sneakers..
I also had a multicolored navy blue/pink/purple light blue scarf that has sort of a checkered pattern in the middle featuring all those colors and a paisley pattern with those colors at the ends..
hard to describe...
looks better than it sounds :p
should have photographed it but i wasn't thinking

anyway... here's the pic:
(excuse the dirty mirror.. the light in my home has not been ideal for photos..)

^ That's so cute ... totally reminded me of how I have stood on the bathtub when I haven't had a full length mirror ... ;)

ChrissyM that outfit is super cute! That purple shirt was sold out online and at the two Kohl's stores I went to. I think it was the Oprah effect.
