I just called FEDEX and they have confirmed this is true.. for anything that is over the value of $2000 they need a company tax ID or social to clear custom.. which is really the first time I have heard of it...

Since it's completely up to Alan to decide... it can really vary. Sometimes he puts things on sale sometimes he doesn't (*cough* Carpe Diem *cough*).

I've seen stuff as deep as 50% off.

The thing is, whatever doesn't sell during the sales time frame goes right back up to full price afterwards. I've seen pieces there for something going on 3 seasons maybe 4 now.

Gonna stop in this weekend and see what may be worth picking up.

Just FYI, the SA's at Bilzerian do not work off of commission so feel free to ask them about the sales and things like that. They're always really cool guys (and I'm sure the second floor people are just as laid back).

H&M starts next week. They weren't clear on the date but I think I finally got someone to admit it starts on Thursday...although there are already heavy markdowns.

Most items go immediately to 50%--I don't think they usually do a second markdown, do they? Past season stuff sometimes comes out at 75%, especially if they need to clear stock. There's a lot of nice stuff left but most of it is absurdly priced even at 50% off.

I agree. MMM's stuff is never on deep discount. They are normally 40% off at most...

Paris sales - department stores and most boutiques start 28th of June. Colette typically starts its sales a week earlier than the others - and keeps them to a neat week's duration.

btw, I went to barneys NY today and saw the Balenciaga paisley pants in grey. They have all sizes available(on sale)...I guess that the pants were cut really weirdly so nobody bought them.

Hey caffeine - almost all of the other B. collection pants have been snapped up but I have seen quite alot of the grey paisleys hanging around too - I didn't try them on myself - but I guess they were probably cut too small on the thigh. Apparently with the black and white striped pants the tailors had to put big inserts into the inner thigh and crotch area (sounds a bit grim to me) that said there are no stripeys left at all in the boutiques. There are still some of the printed tees left but only in the largest sizes. There also are some of the amazing shoes with stones as they are just so expensive. I can't believe it's still around 10 days until the sales start though - it just seems so late compared to the states...

You could try Colette - they always go on sale approx 1 week before all the rest of the stores which are officially having their sales on the 28th of this month.
