Stores / Websites with the Worst Customer Service

i come from a wealthy family but i don't always dress like that. whenever they do that or look down on you, i'm thinking

UHM A SALESPERSON. DO YOU NEED TO GO TO COLLEGE FOR THAT? ARE YOU SALESPEOPLE RICH? (cause they're so snobby)

my parents could buy everything in the store in a heartbeat.

Maybe they get tired of waiting on people who walk around thinking they can buy everything? This isn't meant to be a personal attack, I just find this post incredibly offensive, did you go to college to be born into a rich family?

I know what you mean... my friend and I were in Vegas and we were at Manolo Blahnik, and my friend was dressed in a tank and jeans. The sa a looked her up and down and kind of rolled his eyes. I'm thinking she works at a global investment banking firm and you are some guy selling women's shoes hmmm...

Wealth can't buy class...:innocent:

Yeah condescending attitudes from people just because they can afford everything is never nice...I always remember one time this silly woman left her mega expensive Chanel sunglasses in the store and she came back looking for them and when I handed them to her she said, "oh good, you have NO IDEA how expensive these are". I'm not stupid nor ignorant of brands simply because I happen to be working in retail!

This doesn't particularly fit with the discussion of stores with worst customer service, but I find it funny that whenever salespeople do approach me to ask if I needed to find anything, and I actually ask them about where to find this and that, they immediately look a little taken back and look a little stunned before answering me.

I get the impression that salespeople are so used to chanting the greeting phrase over and over again that it becomes out of their routine to actually be helpful.

H&M :P

No, but really, those shop clerks live in a world of their own, where everything is in slow-motion.

Zing!

From personal experience, I have to say Gucci has terrible customer service. They ignore clientel and only acknowledge your existance after you say "i'll get this one". However to be honest I no longer get bothered when sales associates ignore me. I go to the store for the product not the customer service.

I've never had a terrible experience in a store, though i once got asked to leave cause i spilled some coffee on a shirt or something ( with an accident, but the lady clearly thought i'd done it on purpose or something). Yeah, and in cheap second-hand stores they always look at you like your going to steal everything you see OR are a mental drug-abuser. Great.

Entering a designer bag store here in Budapest the shop assistants kept talking like nobody else is there.. I suppose it's still better than suffering from being looked down.

I work in retail, and if a customer comes in who looks normal, trustworthy, and not like an a-hole, sometimes I will keep talking to my coworkers while the customer browses around. I would take it as a compliment so long as they aren't ignoring you while you are trying to get their attention! ^_^

LV is so annoying. They act all high and mighty and I get really pissed off when they give me looks. That just makes me not want to buy anything from their stores, i'd rather order it online! I especially hate it when you are looking at things and you take them down from the shelves and then they rearrange it when you put it back up. I don't know why that annoys me so much. The MAC counter at bloomies is rude too. I once asked if they had something and the girl replyed she couldn't help me because she was reapplying her eyeshadow for the Barbie collection.

omg that's crazy!^

When I'm looking for places to shop and I'll be sure to avoid neimans. Yah neimans in newport beach either look at you like wolves or totally ignore you.. I went this weekend and yes I can confirm that their service was bad.

That is such a shiteous comment. And generalizing comments like that just circles everyone back into hating customers with snotty attitudes.

I worked for Dior for 5 years, last year of working with them I did Customer Service rep. and im all about catering to the customer. From a SA's point of view, its a 50-50 kind of deal. Sadly we're working with human beings that can't master the art of putting their problems aside or attitudes, therefore, you're bound to bump into a grumpy or bitchy SA. But think about the people that have to live off a paycheck to support their family and sh*t, or just support themselves. The more reason for them to be nice to customers, but here's when we get the ***hole customers that act like we have to serve them. One time I had to stop some latina customer because she came from Argentina, head to toe plastic surgery, and pimp daddy coke dealer coming in thinking that they deserve that service, while the dumb wh*re is claiming for champagne and crackers while she tries on everything to get nothing. "Im here to help you, but that doesn't make me your server"

So again, we're all human and not all the time we can swich our buttons on and off. I wish there was more SA's with a more positive attitude and customers with less of a bitchy attitude.

It all comes back to being a damn ignorant person, and that comment up there... oh god let me just turn the switch, thank you.

Preach.

I agree, when I was an SA sometimes I was the devils helper. And sometimes I was an angel, depends on how dumb the customer is being. Ive learned alot from that an I hope that I am a better customer from my experiences as an SA, I try to be as self sufficient as possible, as patient as possible and as positive as possible. Because a whole day of dealing w/ customers could make anyone go crazy.

They couldn't buy you a new attitude though...

I'm sorry but if a customer comes in thinking he or she is queen of the universe, of course they will get bad service. You don't get a good reaction acting like that in any part of life. It's all about being helpful, accomodating and friendly on BOTH sides. I for one can't stop myself being mean if someone comes in with a bad attitude and expects everything

^^ I agree. As someone who used to work in retail I find that I am a much better customer because of that. I've dealt with horrible customers, people trying to return stuff they shouldn't be able to, credit card system going down etc. So i am much more tolerant of salespeople who appear to be having a bad day. Courtesy works both ways - from the salesperson and the customer.
