Style My Hair

Alright. SO I have a hair appointment tomorrow and I'm tired of my long semi-straight darkish blonde hair. I used to have blunt bangs (which I loved, but got sick of trimming) and now they're growing out, and I just got them past the ugly akward stage.

I'm planning on getting blonde highlights, to lighten things up a bit. And I was thinking of maybe getting some strawberry-blonde thrown in there? good or bad idea?

ALSO, I want to change up my cut. My mom wants me to go super dramatic a-la Posh Spice....too much for me I think. But what do you all think of cuts like these??

Thanks!

Can someone please recommend a haircut for me?
I was thinking blunt bangs. Would this suit me? What about Reese's bangs like in the pics above? Or should I stay away from bangs because my face is round?
I want to look younger!!! :)

im getting my hair cut this week. i feel as though im in a style rut - sick of the length and the style and just need a change.

here is a picture of my hair as it currently is (and has been for the last 5 years...). i was thinking of getting it cut alittle shorter than nicole richie's hair here (pic from celebutopia). should i go this short or shorter. will this style suit my face? please excuse the photo.

any advice is greatly appreciated!

superem please credit the picture otherwise I'll have to remove it :flower:

I love that instyle hair makeover page!! I tried myself in just about every style availble. The best looking one on me was Katie Holmes hair (before she cut bangs, when she just had the bob)...and that's what I ended up doing, although my hair looks quite a bit different than the picture originally showed (and I have blonde hair) :)

Oh my God, I tried Katie's hair on that website, too! The one where it's about chin length and sideswept, sort of a bob but not really, and no fringe. It's such an awesome cut, I'm getting it done on Wednesday and going dark auburn.

I have virgin hair so I'm a little nervous, but I've tried (with websites and photoshop) colouring my hair, and I think the reddy-brown of auburn looks strangely cool against my skin colour, which is a natural dark tan, kinda caramel but a tad lighter. It's darker right now because of summer, so yeah.

Excited! :woot:

I need help! I'm getting my haircut in about an hour and I don't know what to do. Here's what it looks like right now. Anyone have any haircuts they think would look good on me? HELP!

Please, style my hair. I want it be be simple and with bangs ^_^. It's a quite old photo. My hair is like 15 cm longer now.

MissAnia, you would look younger without a fringe and some waves in your hair and your hair a little bit lighter.

I hope this is the right place to make this post because I could not find a thread about adding volume to hair (search engine did not seem to work too well), but did not want to make a whole new thread in case it already was there.

I really need to know how to add volume to my hair because it always looks like I have been ironed on top of my head and nothing appears to work. I've tried teasing, hair drying, volumising shampoo, volumising conditioner (only on ends so it does not weigh it down), hair mousse, hair spray, hanging my head upside-down and messing up my hair and various combinations of all those things... Either they do not work or it lasts merely seconds before my hair returns to looking as if it was just run over by a steamroller.

My hair is thick, slightly wavy and stops just below my shoulders. I do not want to have to cut it any shorter than shoulder length, so please do not suggest I get my hair cut.

I cannot use rollers to give my hair a bit of volume because I always shampoo in the morning and if I shampoo at night I always wake up with dirty, greasy hair. I cannot wash it any less than once every day else my hair gets extremely greasy. It is not because of excess shampooing that my hair is this way. When I washed it every three days as a kid it was still looking disgusting by the end of the same day that I washed it.

I do not want to have to go to a lot of trouble in the morning for this (for example, going to the hairdresser's every single morning or doing something that takes several hours) so if you have any idea what I can try, please try to keep it quick and simple!

I have the same exact problem - flat hair and need to wash it every morning.

I use this Vidal Sassoon blow dryer that has a comb attachment.

I lift sections of my hair, put the comb right into the roots of my hair, blow it w/some heat for a couple of minutes and then use the cool button for another few minutes. I do this throughout the top of my head until I get the desired volume. You can also spray some hairspray (lightly) before you do this w/the blow dryer. Also, if you don't want to go buy a new blow dryer (I only use this one to add volume - I have a separate dryer to dry my hair. I find this one doesn't have enough oomph to dry my hair quick enough), then use a round brush to put under your roots and blow dry aiming it at the brush and your roots. Just make sure you shoot some cool air to set it.

I also take my flat iron, again lift sections of my hair, put it right under my roots (like this)

and just gift it a slight twist so it "crimps" just the roots.

It sounds weird but it works. ^_^

I usually "crimp" my roots first and then do the dryer method. I have naturally stick straight Asian hair and I've found this is the only thing that works for me. Not even baby powder or dry shampoos (to add texture) did anything.

Hope this helps! :flower:
