my current hair is a chin length round bob that is dyed black. appearently people say it is the best they have seen on me so far.

OK girlies (and guys!!) I need some advice/encouragement!

This is my hair at the moment

but I really want a change and I'm thinking about something like this

I've never ever had short hair, ever and I'm not sure if I'll suit it or if I'm even brave enough!!! Any comments/suggestions are welcomed!

^You seem to have a similar face shape and overall look to Sophie Ellis-Bextor, plus longish bobs flatter just about everyone. Go for it, it will look lovely. I can also imagine your hair even shorter, cut off right where the light stops hitting it in your picture, with choppy, uneven layers. Ahem, prettier image than it sounds, but in any case, I think you have a nice face for shorter hair.

My hair is a similar texture (medium thick, wavy or straight-ish depending on the day) and length. What are the best styling products for me to use? There are so many to choose from, I am so confused.

Not really sure on products GasolineRainbow, my hair is pretty fine and straight'ish and all I ever use on my hair is hairspray, volumising mouse when I blow dry and then roast it into shape with GHD's!

You look splendid and mysterious. It's a great cut that allows you to "hide" behind your hair as with long hair. (Shy girls will know what I'm talking about.) I would never have guessed that your hair is fine, it has a lot of body. Enjoy your new look!

Those polaroids are precious. Your face was made for bangs, I think you could pull off any kind. Long, short, side-swept, retro, anything! Definitely those Anna Karina short, wispy bangs too, which are difficult for a lot of us to wear. Your jawline is slightly triangular, so some (not all) bob lengths might look awkward. I'm not an expert, so perhaps look at bob or short-hair suggestions for heart or diamond-shaped faces? (Though I kind of dislike those face-shape rules, they always make me feel like something's wrong with my face, and you're so pretty!) Not a fan of Alice Glass' haircut, it's too shaggy/Sally Hershberger for my taste, if that makes sense. But I <3 Anna Karina's hair.

Please does anyone have any ideas of what i can do to my hair? im soo sick of it. its long n limpy with no volume lol. i cut myself a side fringe/bang, but its still so boring. im willing to do anything to it (except shave it off lol) colour/ cut etc. any ideas?? p.s sorry about the pic. its the only one i could find with my new hair.

The sideswept fringe looks really good on you (and well-done, as it's tricky to cut it by yourself). Only your ends look kind of straggly, so your hair might look healthier if you cut a few centimeters off. I think Ashlee Simpson's haircut here is so cute, and it seems like it could work with your hair type and bone structure.

What should I do with my damn hair? I have problems when its long because I have callicks on the back of my head. Buzzin it combined with my clothing style (jeans, boots, solid black t's) makes me look like a damn skinhead. My hair sucks.

Esperanza i think your hair is gorgeous like that but i can relate with that feeling of needing something different, my hair is really thin and has zero volume, i just went ahead and change color from dark brown with highlights to a redhead. i had the same lenght as you and im letting it grow now, i just got bangs a couple of weeks ago, and it helped to get a different casual look, instead of having my hair down i just have a ponytail or a bun and it looks better with the bangs. id say try with a different color, maybe something warmer like a chocolate shade with some low lights and highlights. yoou are gorgeous im sure you can pull every look. Hmm im just thinking maybe you could change the way you style your hair instead of doing color or cutting it.

i gave that a shot at one point and no matter what i tried it just looked goofy from about 1cm to a few inches long. but my hair is kind of rough and thick... so i couldnt figure out what to do with it when it was long.

oh your so sweet and thank you for the compliment n for your advice yeah i never know what to do with my hair. i have thought about bangs but i have arab features so it might be a bit hard on me, i havnt tried low lights before. how do they work? i use to have high lights which were caramel and blonde. i also never tie my hair up cos i think it doesnt suite me. lol i duno why but it maked my hair really flat or maybe its me being a bit self consious. i always have my hair straight n side frindge. got any ideas with hair styles i can never think of any that would suite me?? Another reason why i wanted a change is because thats how all the girls in my city are trying to look now (kim kardashian style)(fake hair,tanned,extention, and really upthemselve skanks) and it makes me feel like i am trying to look like them, when this is my natural colours.

Dark brown eyebrows with that hair color will look nice. It is possible to match your eyebrows to your hair color, but I don't recommend it at all. The regrowth is quick and looks funny. Some variation between brow color and hair color is normal, in fact a lot of people who don't color their hair have darker or lighter brows.

I'm getting bored of my hair. I've been looking for some hair styles but I am very confused on what would suit me best, I still want to keep my bangs. I just need something to add enhance my round face without making it look like my head is tiny .
