Went today and tried on Rayban aviators (the only kind i like are dark green lens and gold rim) as well as the clubmasters (which really looked bad on. The girl at The Sunglass Hut was shocked I knew that's what they were called) and they looked great but I couldn't believe the Canadian markup! They were $240! I was like I'll just drive across the border and get them for $120. I was so suprised.

Meg-Yeesh! That's crazy! I like the style though- I have some Tom Ford's that look really similar though (the Carine) I try to take advantage of the US$ now as much as I can, esp. w/clothing, shoes, etc. I might have to buy the rayban aviators when I'm in Seattle next... they're not a whole lot cheaper, but every $ counts! I think they were $157 at HR and they're $129 at Nordstrom's... anywhere else to get them cheaper in Seattle?

$129 seems to be the going price. Why the hell were the ones I tried on $240 then? Do they have some sort of more expensive limited edition ones? And I agree, I tend to buy most of my stuff in the states simply because my mum lives on the border and it's easy to cross. Plus now she has a second home in Florida which means online shopping.....

Sometimes Sunglass Hut can be extremely marked up becaus they're a chain store. If you go to an independant, they have alot more leeway and often will give you a different price, dpending on the place though. There was a place that was willing to sll me Rayban wayfarers for 130, and sunglass hut was selling them for 180.
