Tartan!

I was just wondering what everyone thought about the recent revival in tartan on the runway what with alexander mcqueen (and loads more)especially making use of his own family tartan in his new collection. Do you think it's too garish? punk? or what?
Personally i quite like it and so i bought some red tartan flatties. yum.

YES YES YES I love it, I don't think I'd wear any of it though coz I don't think I can pull it off, but there's this really cute tartan jacket that my friend wears and it looks very cute <3 tartan hairbands might be okay though

I love plaid and tartan. I'm definetly going to be on the look out for a plaid fall jacket and some plaid tops.

I have several plaid scarves that I generally wear with my navy blue jacket. I've never gotten anything else in plaid though. A coat might be nice, if it fits really well.

i love the idea of this, but i think it could be played out by the time fall actually hits. its really everywhere.

imo, tartans and plaids look really good in deep rich tones. ive seen some that are like tomato red & kelly green...really garish.

I like plaid, but this is reminding me of three years ago (2003/2004 school year). I was in grade nine, and it was my first year in high school. For some reason all the tween magazines I was reading forecasted plaid as "in". Of course I wanted to be "in" for my first year of high school, so I bought myself a plaid skirt. However I felt like a complete idiot when I wore it my first day at school with a black tank top when everyone else was so casual in jeans. I also have memories of a really bad day when I was wearing this skirt. I just pulled it out of my closet and it still fits. Should I wear is to school this year, just for a laugh?

I love Tartan, especially from McQueen. Im very interested in that Tartan field coat McQueen is doing in his McQ line. It's so fresh and versatile, only if you wear it without that uber cliche punk edge that somehow Tartan is naturally equated with.

I saw a woman wearing Tartan ballet flats, I dont know where she got them but they were gorgeous.

^Whoa! I love that bag! I find the anthropologie stuff to be though. I really like the idea of a plaid dress, but I'm always afraid that I'll look like I'm wearing a catholic school girl costume, so I don't think I'll be wearing one. Oh well!
